A flowchart is a diagram that uses simple geometric shapes and arrows to represent a process or algorithm. It was introduced in 1921 by Frank Gilbreth as a way to represent industrial processes and has since been used to describe computer programs and algorithms. Flowcharts provide a common language to define relationships in a process and show the logical flow and decision points. They have advantages of being easy to understand and maintain but can become complex and costly to modify for large processes. Modern tools now provide digital and interactive ways to create flowcharts.

Subject: System Analyze A flowchart is a formalized graphic representation of a logic sequence work or manufacturing process organization chart similar formalized structure. The purpose of a flow chart is to provide people with a common language or reference point when dealing with a project or process.
Flowcharts use simple geometric symbols and arrows to define relationships. In programming, for instance, The Beginning Or End Of A Program Is Represented By An Oval. A Process Is Represented By A Rectangle, A Decision Is Represented By A Diamond An I/O Process Is Represented By A Parallelogram. The Internet Is Represented By A Cloud.
1921- The "flow process chart", was introduced by Frank Gilbreth to members of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Gilbreth's tools quickly found their way into industrial engineering curricula. 1930- An industrial engineer, Allan H. Mogensen began training business people in the use of some of the tools of industrial engineering at his Work Simplification Conferences in Lake Placid, New York. 1944- A graduate of Mogensen's class, Art Spinanger, took the tools back to Procter and Gamble where he developed their Deliberate Methods Change Program. 1944- Ben S. Graham, Director of Form craft Engineering at Standard Register Industrial, adapted the flow process chart to information processing with his development of the multi-flow process chart to display multiple documents and their relationships. In 1947, ASME adopted a symbol set derived from Gilbreth's original work as the "ASME Standard: Operation and Flow Process Charts." Douglas Hartree explains that Herman Goldstine and John von Neumann developed a flowchart (originally, diagram) to plan computer programs. His contemporary account is endorsed by IBM engineers and by Goldstine's personal recollections. Besides describing the logical flow of control, flowcharts allowed programmers to lay out machine language programs in computer memory before the development of assembly languages and assemblers. Flowcharts used to be a popular means for describing computer algorithms and are still used for this purpose. Modern techniques such as UMLactivity diagrams and Drakon-charts can be considered to be extensions of the flowchart.
Complex- The major disadvantages in using the flowcharts is that when a program is very large, the flowcharts may continue for many pages, making them hard to follow. Difficult to modify- due to symbolic nature, any changes of modifications to a flowcharts usually requires redrawing the entire logic again, and redrawing a complex flowchart is not a simple tasks.
Costly- Drawing flowcharts are viable only if the problem solving logic is straight forward and not very lengthy. However , if flowcharts are to be drawn for a huge application, the time and cost factor of program development may get out of proportion.
One of the famous company Microsoft are the one publishing the latest versions of flowchart. The basic features are keep constant The look of the diagram are attractive Drag and drop Graphical User Interface A flowchart is a tool for your mind. Like all tools, its value depends on the person using it. It provides one way of describing how you will plan to do a complicated task. A flowchart shows what is done when each decision must be made and when to go to each process as a result. There is a saying, "A picture is worth a thousand words." A flowchart gives a picture of the way a particular item will occur. In calculating payroll taxes, the program asks, "Is this person married?" The answer is yes or no. If it is yes, the program goes to one rate. If no, it goes to another rate. The flowchart shows all such yes and no decisions. Following those makes it easier to find mistakes in the program. Easy to present Easy to study or understand Easy to maintain Very User-Friendly Attractive
