leadership But what is leadership? What does it mean to lead? What does a leader do? What does it take to be a leader? Definition of leadership Influence. Nothing more; nothing less.
Traditional sources of influence Money/wealth Social position/status Popularity Arms, 1. Vision
But authentic influence comes from VISION/ DREAM; A vision that is shared by many; A vision that is clear and easy to understand; A vision that comes from the dreams and hopes of the majority; A vision that can inspire others to give their energy to attain it; 2. The ability to communicate the vision
The ability to clearly explain it; The ability to rally the others towards the vision; The ability to prove that you are also giving up your life for the realization of the vision;
Leadership comes from within
-the vision must be from within The leader must always have time to look into himself; and to be quiet; The leader must have always have the time, and the humility to listen to himself, and to others; The leader must have the humility to share it with others; collective leadership We are all leaders, in our own right We must be leaders of our own selves; before we can lead others; We must be leaders in the home; We must be leaders in school We must be leaders in our community We must be leaders in our country; All of us have the leadership seed within us We just have to make it grow
