Gartner Research Notes are valuable for our teachers, students and
researchers in our organisation. It is a complement to our
courses. Compared to the traditional contents it gives an
understanding of the current market where theories learnt by the
students are applied to real life. One example, is that our students
are given business case/ Challenges to solve and the access to
Gartner contents is used to propose a solution. Gartner Campus
access is also also a source of empirical data for our research on the
diffusion of innovations.

Gartner database is very appreciated by our researchers and
students, mainly by our Mba and EMba students who are specialized
in Information System Management. They find all the information
they need to work on their case studies and future carreers.

Gartner Campus is available for our teachers, researchers and
students. It is mainly used for the "thread cases" our students have
to drive. A thread case is a real world situation initiated by a
partner Organization to the University; a group of 4 to 6 students
that are engaged in initial or professional training will work for an
entire academic year on this. The purpose of these cases is to drive
innovation for the partner Organisation, and the experience for
students is as vocational as it is educational. The ability to access
Gartner knowledge, up to date case studies and a trusted
perspective outside of the academic Institution is an important
added-value for our students and our school. Thus, they have
access to very relevant information for innovating processes at any
time as well as driving personal research on every topic they find
interest in.

Die Gartner Dokumente, auf die ich zugegriffen
habe, haben mir sehr geholfen. Vor allem die Hype
Cycles zu unterschiedlichen Branchen und
Schwerpunkten konnte ich in meinem Studiums-
Schwerpunkt immer wieder effektiv fr schlssige
Technologieanalysen und -prognosen nutzen. Sie
stellen eine renommierte und anerkannte
Informationsquelle bei Professoren sowie bei
verantwortlichen Entscheidern im
Unternehmenskontext dar und bilden daher fr mich
eine gute Grundlage fr berzeugende Universitts-
und Businessprsentationen.

"Working within the school of Business Management
and Economics we aim always to offer students
access to the most relevant and up to date
commercial information as well as our own research
led material. Knowing Gartner as the pre-eminent
source of "Knowledge Leadership" from my
Consultancy days I was delighted to discover that
ITS not only had a subscription for their own
business intelligence purposes but had generously
made full access to research papers available to
registered students and staff."

Research papers black-box the technology itself
and this is where Gartner gives more insight
Examples of Research related to using Gartner as
source of empirical data:

the study of Accounting Information Systems: The case
of Corporate Performance Management . International
Journal of Business Information Systems.

Gartner Campus Access is highly valuable and
exclusive for our Students.
We tell students, this data is what you will most
need but because of the price you will never
have it in your first job.
There are many good schools, we look to
differentiate ourselves with outstanding quality
Gartner forming part of this concept
Additional source for the future decision-makers,
buyers or users role, to get to know the
technology market.
Aim: To make students better employable by
providing them with the skills they really need
Case studies: Format: Company, issues, identify
a number of challenges, map with a solution by
using Gartner Hype Cycle, Magic Quadrant,
identify the actors on the market.
Broaden students views. Example: If you need
to buy an ERP System, which type of technology
will you use? And then the student has to follow
the Gartner process to support his choice
I use real case studies with local companies or
the ones I bought from Harvard and let the
students solve them with Gartner.
