IMPORTANT EVENTS
Tata entered the commercial vehicle sector in 1954
after forming a joint venture with Daimler-Benz of
Germany.

Tata Motors entered the passenger vehicle market
in 1991 by launching the Tata Sierra, a multi utility
vehicle.

Tata launched the Indica in 1998, the first fully
indigenous Indian passenger car.

2004 Tata Motors acquired Daewoo's South Korea-
based truck manufacturing unit.

2006, Tata formed a joint venture with the Brazil-
based Marcopolo.

2008, Tata Motors acquired the British car maker
Jaguar Land Rover, manufacturer of the Jaguar,

Ford Motor Company.

RESPONSIBILTIES
Tata Motors is the first Indian Company to
introduce vehicles with Euro norms.
Tata Motors has planted 80,000 trees in the works
and the township and more than 2.4 million trees
have been planted in Jamshedpur region. Over half
a million trees have been planted in the Pune
region.
In Lucknow, two Societies - Samaj Vikas Kendra &
Jan Parivar Kalyan Sansthan have been formed for
rural development & for providing healthcare to the
rural areas.
