WHAT IS GASTRITIS?
-Gastritis is an inflammation , irritation or erosion of
the lining of the stomach.
-It can occur suddenly(acute) or gradually(chronic).
WHAT CAUSES
GASTRITIS?
Caused by irritation due to
excessive alcohol use,chronic
vomiting,stress or the use of
certain medications.
PERNICIOUS ANAEMIA.
-a form of anaemia that occurs
when the stomach lacks a
naturally occuring substance
needed to properly absorb and
digest vitamin B12
BILE REFLUX.
-a backflow of bile into the
stomach from the bile tract(that
connects to the liver and
gallbladder
HELICOBACTER PYLORI.
--a bacterie that lives in the
mucous lining of the stomach
INFECTIONS.
-caused by bacteria and viruses
OBESITY
-excessive storage of energy in the form of fat.
-results from lack of balance between food
intake and expenditure.
-one of our nations most critical health problems
and is directly responsible for a huge number of
deaths each year.
-obese people are predisposed to a number of
diseases including cardiovascular disease
hypertension and diabetes mellitus.
-for many, obesity leads to often life-threating
eating disorders such as anorexia nervosa and
bulimia.

NERVOSA

-Complex eating disorder with three
features:
a) refusal to maintain a healthy body
weight
b) an intense fear of gaining weight
c) a distorted body weight
-Types of anorexia nervosa:
a) restricting type of anorexia
b) purging type of anorexia

-Your self-esteem is based on
more than just weight and
body image.
-You view weight loss as a
way to improve your health
and appearance.
-Your goal is to lose weight in
a healthy way.
Anorexia
-Anorexia is an attempt to

entirely on how much you
weight and how thin you are.
-You view weight loss as a
way to achieve happiness.
-Becoming thin is all that
matters: health is not a
concern.
