INTRODUCTION
In the fast developing world, small towns and cities
are changing into metropolitan cities.Hence huge
multi-storied buildings for commercial organizations
are being constructed and the number of such
complexes are increasing fast day by day.
Production has increased very much, therefore
buildings for these commercial purposes have
become a neccessity.
The National Building Code of India classifies
buildings based upon the structure, it can be either
load bearing or framed or a combination of two. Here
we are using framed structure for our complex.
AIM AND OBJECTIVE

The main aim of the project is to ensure that the
designed building is able to stand up safely, able to
function without excessive deflections or movements
which may cause discomfort for occupants.
To safely resist the stresses induced in all the
members due to loads which include dead load, live
load and combination of dead load and live load.

DETAILS OF THE PROJECT
The project concerns with the Analysis & Design of
commercial complex building (G+2) which will have
semi base floor car parking and 38 showrooms like Retail
Showrooms for Consumer goods / Garments / Electronics
etc.
The proposed site is the land in Ammoor near Walajapet
with a plot area of 5167 sq.ft.
Our project involves the design of slabs to cover large
area, analysis of beams by moment distribution method
and design of beams, columns and footings.
DESIGN METHODOLOGY
Analysis process is carried out by moment distribution
method.
Roof slabs and Floor slabs are designed and check for
shear and deflection control are also done by Limit state
method.
Beams are designed for different loading conditions of the
slab and shear reinforcement is also provided as per IS
code.
Columns are designed with minimum eccentricity
condition and Lateral ties are provided by Limit state
method.
The foundation is designed for axial load from the column
by Limit state method.

CONCLUSION
The design of commercial complex is done by Limit
State Method as per IS:456-2000 and all the rules and
regulation are followed in the design aspects.
The minimum imposed loads to be considered in the
design of floor slabs are given in table 1 of IS:
875(part2)-1987.
The imposed loads on roof slabs are given in table 2
of IS: 875(part2)-1987.
