 General information
Brief History of the Fire Officers Faculty
 The Military School of Active Officers of Ministry of
Defense;
 The Active Officers School of Ministry of Interior;
 Beginning with 1991 we started a new formula for the
complementary training in the technical engineering field
(four years – day courses);
 Beginning with 1995 promotion, the graduated officers
were being able to obtain a fire-fighters officer license
(certificate) and, also an engineer diploma;
 The curriculums and the syllabuses were upgraded and
adapted to the university authorization rules because of
the diploma recognition by the Ministry of Education and
Research and to maintain the military fire-fighters
officer’s skills after graduation.

Mission of the Fire Officers Faculty
 The Fire Officers Faculty is an academic military
institution within the Police Academy “Alexandru Ioan
Cuza”
 The Fire Officers Faculty assures the training and
specialization of fire officers to be professional officers
in the National System of Emergencies Situations
Management (Ministry of Administration and Interior)
 Fire Officers Faculty is a superior engineering
education institution for long duration (4 years & 2
years Master Degree) with the qualification in
“installations for buildings – fire-fighters”

Main Objectives of Fire Officers Faculty
 Main objectives to complaining the faculty mission are:
 to assure fire-fighters training of young officers;
 disaster management training;
 to assure military training;
 to assure technical-engineering education in
installations for constructions specialty;
 to organize and to develop the scientific research in
fire protection and disaster management field;
 taking part to the activity of improving and up-to-
date officers training from the National Emergencies
Management System.

 College graduated (only boys) with Graduation
Diploma:
 Minimum conduct mark in college: 8.00/from 10.00;
 Age – till 25 years old reached until the date of the
contest;

 It is necessary to be Romanian citizen.

 4 years / 8 semesters & 2 years / 4 semesters Master

 128 weeks of didactic activity;

 22 weeks of emergency situations management training in fire

brigades (40 hours / week);


 30 - 32 hours weekly of didactic activity.

 Scientific research activity

Types of research:
 individually (post-graduate studies, elaboration of
didactical papers, scientific monographs, articles and other
scientific activities);
 team activity: co-operation in elaborating scientific
papers with The Studies and Researching Center of General
Inspectorate for Emergency Situations;
 stipulated by contract: with Ministry of Research and
Technologies and also with industrial customers;
 fire specialty consultant for other companies.

for civil protection activities of our graduates;

protection and stuff protection against fire,
accidents, catastrophes and calamities;
 Poly-functional competence to do auxiliary
operative missions of our graduates.
 Conclusions
Synthesizing, fire-officers graduates must have:

 Professional ability typical for professional fire-


fighters (command, fire prevention, firefighting civil
protection);
 Technical ability like a safety specialist (life
protection, environment and public assets
protection);
 Polly-functional ability to be efficient in
connected actions of fire-fighters missions (including
civil protection);
 Military ability to defense our country in case of
wars.
