Whilst some of the assessments were very easy to go
through Some assessments were difficult to follow what
students intended to say in them Careful you are
students studying in Australia
Syntax, English and Grammar Spelling! Careful
You might need to learn more how to speed-read and
my advice will be for you to try and read every day a
journal article this only comes with practice (both the
reflective, critical and academic writing and reading)

Unfortunately, not all were able to develop arguments
logically what I have noticed (with the majority of the
assignments) that you would bring in one source and
keep on hammering that source to write up a
paragraph this is not an academic argument as
mentioned in the classes earlier you needed to read
more than one RELATIVE peer-reviewed article, or
source and synthesise the ideas find a trend in the
authorship and take it from there.
Do not depend on one article for the whole argument,
some authors are biased to one idea and this might
affect your judgement. Very weak in this aspect...

Accurately identifying the problem

Not all of you had identified the
CORE problem - and all other
problems would have been an
outcome of this one.
Some, while they identified the main
problem, but immediately brushed it
off for the sake of other problems
which were originally generated from
this CORE one

Accurately defining the issues and
context
Here we need to witness some
originality and independent
thought in testing different
perspectives on the issues

For example we asked you to look at
the four perspectives the majority of you
did not move beyond this and bring in
some of the warning signs or other
issues that were raised during the first
three sessions of this unit.

Supporting analysis with relevant
literature
Some students have brought in some 2013
sources from
Journal of Business Ethics,
Academy of Management,
Business Ethics Quarterly, and
Business Ethics European Review (BEER)

However, others went for other sources and textbooks
from 1870 and 1930 while this is good to include
(especially old books), which is relevant to this unit being
rooted in old philosophies, nonetheless, these books alone
do not tell me that you understand you need to support
this with the latest PEER-REVIEWED ARTICLES

Using relevant theory to develop
solutions to case

Yes you have incorporated
the FOUR perspectives but,
in some cases, unfortunately,
it was superficial we are
looking at depth of insight into
theoretical issues and
ORIGINALITY of application.
For example, one student
included a statement derived
from (one of the books
recommended for this unit)
this statement did not tie up
with the surroundings in that
assignment which is
unacceptable, and especially
at third year level.

Identifying and evaluating
alternatives
Well
you need to engage in a debate with yourself

to identify, evaluate and choose from the alternatives your choice
must be justified and reasoned.

You needed to display that using the same ethics that originally caused
the problem will not work this will most likely be a combination of
perspectives.

AND NOT

For example after the discussion of the four perspectives
suddenly the student will bring in a statement that would state
deontology would be the best perspective
