ScanTrac Trio X-ray Inspection

Three Beam Inspection
Optimal Detection Glass In Glass

InspX ScanTrac The Approach For Glass

Side View Inspection Three Beams

The ScanTrac Trio inspects glass packages in single file

using a triple beam x-ray for precision glass bottom detection.

Advantages of Third Beam Inspection

Additional Inspection for Contaminants
Statistically, the addition of a second inspection,
adds approximately 40 percent to the probability
of detection. The third adds another 30 percent.

The change in angles of inspection from both the

Duo and the Trio further increase the probability
of detection.

InspX ScanTrac Trio The Approach

Side View Inspection
InspX developed the ScanTrac Solo X-ray
Inspection System for high speed rigid
package inspection in 2001. This system
uses the side view x-ray inspection to
inspect cans and bottles and detect
contaminants such as glass in glass bottles.

ScanTrac Solo/ Trio Features

High speed
Installation ease
Good fill perspective
Tall containers

ScanTrac Trio
Triple Beam Inspection Center Beam

Advantages of the Third Beam

Precise Fill Level Inspection

The third beam of the ScanTrac Trio provides a straight on image of

the container. All distortion from the 45 degree angle is eliminated as
shown in the image above.

Advantages of the Third Beam

Precise Fill Level Inspection

Good Fill Level

Underfill Level

The difference in fill between the image shown is less

than 5 grams in an 8 ounce glass jar. The inspection
area (dotted line rectangle bracketed by yellow dashed
line, can be adjusted vertically and horizontally for
optimal fill control.

ScanTrac Trio
Triple Beam Inspection The Outer Beams

The ScanTrac Trio adds an xray beam in the middle of the

two 90 degree rays to provide
the same inspection as a
single beam ScanTrac Solo..

The Outer Dual Beam Inspection
Seeing around the push-up (dome) on bottom of glass containers.

A single beam cannot see around the push-up.

ScanTrac Trio
The Outer Dual Beam Inspection
Seeing along the walls

Glass container wall thickness varies a great deal. The difference between
the thinnest and thickest wall can exceed 1 mm. This makes inspection
close to the wall difficult. With two looks from a Trio, contaminants close to
the wall or inclusions in the wall itself are easily detected..

Advantages of the Third Beam

Assured Inspection
Precise Fill Level Inspection
Precise Cap Detection
Increased Image Height
Additional Inspection for Contaminants

Trio Competitive Advantages

Industry leading performance

Highest speed up to 700 fpm, 1200
cpm
Small size needs 6 - 9 ft of conveyor
length
Light weight less than 300 Kg
Easy to install
Tolerates occasional container touching
Remote control

ScanTrac Trio Triple Beam Inspection

The ScanTrac Trio inspects glass containers

in single file using a dual single beam x-ray
for precision in glass bottom inspection
coupled with a single center beam.
