evaluated
1. Scalability
Capability to accommodate more users and increasingly intensive calculations should be
taken into account
2. Reliability
Its probability that a system will produce correct outputs up to some given time t.
Reliability can be characterized in terms of mean time between failures
3. Performance
It looks into the speed of operations and efficiency. To accommodate for this following
things need to be looked into carefully.
Infrastructure Performance:
Infrastructure response time (IRT): It is the time taken to place request for work on
virtual environment and for the virtual environment to complete the request.
Resource utilization: Cloud needs to increase resource utilization which could be tracked
using CPU usage, Disc usage, Percentage Busy etc.

4. Security
Its important to define metrics for data protection, authorization ,authentication
insecure or incomplete data deletion and lock in risks.
Compliance with metrics will help in evaluating delivery model
5. Service and Maintenance
The level of support oered by the vendors varies.
Some of them offer 24*7 support, some dont services
6. Availability
Availability means the probability that a system is operational at a given time.
Considerations for uptime needs to be made here
7. Cost
Cost of the application reduces the CAPEX of the company

PROPOSAL OF NEW DELIVERY MODEL

VMware lacks the following:
Has limited number of data centres ,they dont operate in Hyper-scale making
VMWare services costly due to high TCO
Less into the public cloud space and more into private cloud
It lacks complete cloud solutions
They offer limited migration support
They have not ventured much into mobile cloud based systems

FUTURE COURSE OF ACTION

VMWare should focus on entering more into public cloud space to leverage
more clients.
This will help them to hyper-scale, decrease their TCO and reduce costs
They can enter the upcoming field of mobile cloud systems
They should offer customizable solutions to its clients which will help them in
providing complete cloud solutions
