Types of pollution:
There are five types of pollution that are
Air pollution:
-Global warming,
-Acid rain,
-Smog,
-Ozone depletion
Major sources of Air pollution:
-Motor vehicle exhaust
-Solid waste disposal
-Industrial processes
-Extraction of metals
-Fuel production
Water pollution:
Water pollution covers pollution in liquid forms like ocean
Petroleum products
Synthetic agricultural chemicals
Heavy metals
Thermal pollution
Soil pollution
Land pollution:
Land pollution involves the following
mechanism:
Deposition of solid waste
Accumulation of non-biodegradable materials
Toxification of chemicals into poisons
Losses caused by land pollution:
loss of 6 million hectares of land per year
loss of 24 billion tons of topsoil per year
Agriculture
Household chemicals
Demolitions and constructions
Industrial
Noise pollution:
This kind pollution is ever increasing due to
Radioactive Pollution:
Nuclear energy has already been researched since 1900.
Nuclear era reached its greatest peak in World War II, by
skin.
Beta particles can penetrate the skin, while they can be blocked by
some piece of glass or metal.
Gamma rays can penetrate human skin easily and damage cells on
their way through. They can only be blocked by a very thick,
strong, massive piece of concrete.
Sources and Methods:
Nuclear power plants
Nuclear weapons
Transportation
Disposal of nuclear waste
Uranium mining
