Introduction
Quality Council of India (QCI) was set up jointly by
the Government of India and the Indian Industry
represented by the three premier industry
associations
Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of
India (ASSOCHAM)
Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)
Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry
(FICCI)

Introduction
QCI is governed by a Council of 38 members with
equal representations of government, industry and
consumers.
Chairman of QCI is appointed by the Prime Minister
on recommendation of the industry to the
government.
The Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion,
Ministry of Commerce & Industry, is the nodal
ministry for QCI

National Accreditation Board for


Certification Bodies (NABCB)

The National Accreditation Board for Certification Bodies provides


accreditation to Certification and Inspection Bodies based on assessment of
their competence as per the Board's criteria and in accordance with
International Standards and Guidelines.

National Accreditation Board for


Education and Training (NABET)
NABET provides accreditation to schools, training course providers and
auditors that that meet the Boards criteria and also offers a mechanism
for their international recognition.
NABET is the first organization in the world to offer accreditation of
consulting organizations in various conformity assessment areas, Hospital
Accreditation etc.

National Accreditation Board for Testing


and Calibration Laboratories (NABL)
NABL is an autonomous body under the aegis of Department of Science &
Technology, Government of India
Established with the objective to provide Government, Regulators and
Industry with a scheme of laboratory accreditation through third-party
assessment for formally recognizing the technical competence of
laboratories.
The accreditation services are provided for testing, calibration and medical
laboratories in accordance with International Organization for
Standardization (ISO) Standards.

National Board for Quality Promotion


(NBQP)
NBQP as constituent board of Quality Council of India has primarily been
assigned task to promote quality in all walks of life.
NBQP receives nominal support by way of Plan Funds from Government to
carry out National Quality Campaign.

Sponsors seminars and conferences aimed towards promoting good


business practices.

Organizes specialised training/ workshop by national and international


experts

Develops programmes for building competitiveness of SMEs.

Presently providing answers to all queries being
addressed to QCI directly or through website
