ARB Technology

The roller extends top AND bottom of the belt

Movement Effect: If you support the belt on the roller, they spin
(they are activated) and drive the product forward

As a result, the product travels faster than the belt

The Right Belts The Best Service

S400 Activated Roller Belt

The angle of the movement of the roller,
together with the movement of the belt will
result in the movement of the product.

S400 Activated Roller Belt

Different Roller Angles
Larger roller angle => Faster product side movement => Less conveyor length required

ARES carryway engagement system
Helix roller ensure rolling friction between
belt roller and carryway
The ARES technology allows steep roller
angles without rubbing action (wear)

S400 DARB
Base belt is S400 ARB
Additional roller on top of the S400 ARB roller
When the belt moves forward, the lower roller
spins forward under an angle, the upper one
spins backwards under the same angle.
A true 90 side movement of the product.

S400 DARB
High capacity 90 transfer / sorter
Roller spacing 51mm x 51mm
Longer roller > better contact
surface for uneven products

The Right Belts The Best Service

S7000
Rollers are perpendicular to the belt travel
When the belt moves, the rollers can spin either left or right.
Products moves 90 relative to the belt, but as the belt moves
forward, the product moves under 30-35 relative to the world

There is no forward movement of the product compared to

the belt! => small gaps between products

S7000
Bidirectional Roller Rotation

main target applications
2. Common application in your industry

3. To demonstrate how ARB technology has

improved new and existing layouts
4. How to work together to improve your current
solution

90 DARB Sorter
Benefits:
Increased productivity: High throughput up to 150cpm
Decreased product damage: Touchless system
Maximized floor space: Tight divert centers possible and LSL
accumulation
Safety: No moving parts above the conveyor
Low maintenance: Only 1 drive per sorter
Technical specifications:
Max. belt speed:
75m/min
Min. gap:
sorter width + 100mm
Max throughput:
4100 cph for 400x600mm
case
Min product size:
100x100mm
Max product size:
no maximum
Activation system:

Where to use:
Where 90 degree sorting with throughput over ca. 40cpm is
required
Where product range cannot be handled with traditional
technologies

Alignment
Benefits:
Flexibility: Handles a large product range
Maximized floor space: Short machine length
Safety: No moving parts above the conveyor
Reliability: Products actively driven without trap points at
plows or guide rails
Low maintenance: Only 1 drive per aplication
Technical specifications:
Max. belt speed:
90m/min
Min. gap:
to be determined
Max throughput:
4200cph for 400x600mm case
Min product size:
100x100mm
Max product size:
no maximum
Activation system:
ARES and/or friction surface

Where to use:
When products have to be aligned:
In a short run
Where traditional technologies cannot handle the
product types
With long side leading
At a high throughput

Case turning

Technical specifications:
Max. belt speed:
90m/min
Min. gap:
product length
Max throughput:
4500cph for 400x600mm case
Min product size:
100x100mm
Max product size:
no maximum
Activation system:
ARES and/or friction surface

Benefits:
Flexibility: Handles a large product range
Maximized floor space: Short machine length
Reliability: Products actively driven without trap points at
plows or guide rails
High performance: Products make full 90 turns and are then
re-aligned
Low maintenance: Only 1 drive per switch
Where to use:
Where a range of products have to be turned (all or
selectively) at a throughput over 15cpm
Where products need to be turned long side leading
Where products need to be aligned after turning

Passive Layer Former

Benefits:
Maximized floor space : Doubles throughput of a
robot cell within a small area
Simplicity: Has only one drive and few actuators
(depending on layer complexity)
Safety: Does not required safety guards
Technical specifications:
Max. belt speed:
50m/min
Min. gap:
1.5 x required side movement
Max throughput:
3000 cph for 300x400mm case
Min product size:
100x100mm rectangular/square
Max product size:
no maximum rectangular/square

Where to use:
Where 2 row picking robots would be needed to make
the rate because the required throughput is between
25-50cpm
In this case only one robot cell is required resulting in a
smaller footprint, less maintenance, and less investment
for the end users

Where rates of 5-6 layers/min. are needed

S7000 Pallet Layer Former

Benefits:
Product flexibility: Handles a large product range including
cartons, litho, bundles, shrink-wraps, etc.
Layer flexibility: Can handle differences in layer patterns and
product types without mechanical adjustments
Elimination of product damage: Our NO-TOUCH system gentle
handles products without bumps or grippers
High throughput: Up to 200cpm (minimum of 40cpm and 5
layers per minute)
Where to use:
Where product damage is an issue
Where quick product change-overs occur, for example when
multiple production lines feed one palletizer
Where other technologies cannot handle the
required throughput or product range

Pallet Layer Descrambler

Technical specifications:
Max. belt speed:
To be determined
Min. gap:
No gap required
Max throughput:
6 layers/min
Min product size:
100x100mm
Max product size:
no maximum
Activation system:
ARES and/or Friction bed

Benefits:
Versatility: Handles a large product range
Speed: Enables higher throughput
Maximized floor space: High throughput in a small footprint
Simplicity: Mechanical movement possible without controls and
sensors
Flexibility: Handles interlocked patters and high count layers
Where to use:
Where pallet layers have to be descrambled and singulated and
where there are one or more of the following:
Throughput over 3 layers/min.
High rates plus a guaranteed elimination of side by sides
Need for uniform orientation
A large product range
High count layers
