Task 1
A major tobacco company has 5000 workers. Most of the workers are
males (70%). The range of age of the workers is 20 56 years old. Based
on a survey in 2000, there were 500 workers with hypertension
(Hypertension criteria used: systolic pressure 160mmHg and diastolic
pressure: 90mmHg), 100 workers with diabetes mellitus type-2 and no
workers had history of coronary heart disease (CHD). The company
conducts periodic medical examination for their workers every year. Data
in 2010 shows that among 500 workers who had hypertension in 2000, 20
of them had history of CHD; meanwhile among those who had no
hypertension, 50 workers had experienced CHD. Furthermore, those with
DM type-2 in 2000, 10 of them had CHD and among those without DM
type-2, 60 workers were known experiencing CHD.
1. Based on the case above, is it true that hypertension is the dominant
risk factor of heart attack(use OR or RR calculation)? Why?
2. What is the prevalence of hypertension in the first survey (year
2000)?

= 11655/ 8455
= 1,38
Jadi, orang dengan diet non-veg memiliki
resiko 1,38 kali lebih besar untuk mengalami
CHD dibandingkan orang dengan diet veg.
