ARDUINO :-which controls all the devices and digitize the signals.
ARDUINO
Arduino Uno with ATmega328 microcontroller is
used in this project.
The operating voltage of this controller is 5V.
Maximum clock frequency is 16MHz.
Embedded C is used for programming the
microcontroller.
Arduino IDE is used for the programming software
ARDUINO
It is a Open Source Hardware and a Open
Source Development Kit.
The Arduino Uno has a number of
facilities for communicating with a
computer, another Arduino, or other
microcontrollers.
TheATmega328provides UART TTL (5V)
serial communication, which is available
on digital pins 0 (RX) and 1 (TX).
GAS SENSORS
MQ-5 is used for combustible gas detection.
Can detect the presence and concentration of
gases like methane, propane and butane.
The sensing element used is SnO2.
Resistance of SnO2 varies in the presence of gases.
It is a six pin device, with a integrated heating coil.
Sensitivity of SnO2 is greater at higher
temperatures.
The supply voltage is 5V DC.
The output voltage proportional to the gas
concentration is an analog voltage and is given to
the ADC.
MOTOR DRIVE
The project uses DC motors for robot.
DC motors have polarity and direction of rotation
depends on direction of current.
Hence for bi-directional motor rotation a H bridge
drive is used.
H Bridge drives is a circuit configuration using
which direction of current can be changed using
control signals.
The project uses IC L293 for implementing H
bridge drive.
Each L293 capable of two full H bridges.
USB INTERFACE
