What is the PYP Exhibtion?

A culminating project for the pyp


A collaborative inquiry
An inquiry that asks students to use their
learning from the previous PYP years
An experience that uses the essential
elements of the PYP (Concepts, action,
knowledge, skills and attitudes)
A demonstration of how students can take
action as a result of their leanring
A celebration of who are our students are as
learners

Exhibition is:

Tiring
Intense
Exciting
Self directed
Process driven
Rewarding
Action provoking
Synthesis of learned knowledge

Exhibition is not:

A poster contest
A competition
Individual
Product driven
Adult directed
A burden

How much time do the students


have to spend on exhibition?
Skills are taught from the start of Grade 5
The students will spend 5 weeks intensively
working on their exhibition inquiry in groups
starting Monday 30th march 2014
The students will have maths and literacy
during the exhibition time but the majority of
the time will be spent on their inquiries.

What about exhibition


homework?
The children should use their time at home
to research and prepare for the work in class
The actual work should be done in class so
the teachers can keep track of progress

How can parents help?


Ask your child about the exhibition
Provide background knowledge
Help to locate resources, - people, places,
media and information
Celebrate with students by attending the
final presentations
Monitor, challenge, question and clarify
