Grandhi Mallikarjun Rao is an Indian Entrepreneur and self made


billionaire who is the Chairman of the GMR Group.
The Company was originally incorporated on May 10, 1996 as a public
limited company called Varalakshmi Vasavi Power Projects Limited in
Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. On May 23, 1996 we received a certificate
of commencement of business. On May 31, 1999, the name was
changed to GMR Vasavi Infrastructure Finance Limited. Thereafter, on
July 24, 2000, the name of the Company was changed to GMR
Infrastructure Limited. On October 4, 2004 the registered office of the
Company was shifted from the State of Andhra Pradesh to the State of
Karnataka.
GMR Group which is headquartered inBangalore is one of the fastest
growing infrastructure enterprises in the country with interests in
Airports, Energy, Highways and Urban Infrastructuresectors.
Employing the Public Private Partnership model, the Group has
successfully implemented several iconic infrastructure projects in India.
The Group also has a global presence with infrastructure operating
assets and projects in several countries including Turkey, South Africa,
Indonesia, Singapore and the Maldives.
GMR Infrastructure Limitedis the infrastructure holding company

DIAL is a joint venture consortium of GMR Group
(54%),Airports Authority of India (26%),Fraport &
Eraman Malaysia (10% each). GMR is the lead
member of theconsortium;Fraport AG is the airport
operator, Eraman Malaysia - the retail advisors.
GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited
GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited (GHIAL)
is a joint venture companypromoted by the GMR
Group (63%) in partnership with government of India
(13%),government of Andhra Pradesh (13%) and
Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (11%).
TheCompany was incorporated to design, finance,
build, operate and maintain a world classgreenfield
airport at Shamshabad, Hyderabad. The project is
based on the Public PrivatePartnership (PPP) model
and is structured on a Build, Own, Operate and
Transfer (BOOT)basis.
Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport
GMR made its maiden international foray, by winning
the bid to develop Istanbul SabihaGokcen
International Airport (ISGIA) at Istanbul, Turkey, along
with its consortiumpartners Limak Holding, Turkey
(LIMAK) and Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad

Limited (GIL) along with its sole consortium
partnerMalaysia Airports Holdings Berhad

consortium wonconcession for the Mal
Airport for a period of 25 years. GMIAL is
the special purposevehicle formed in
Maldives pursuant to the concession in
which the stake of GIL and MAHBis 77%
