two young and enthusiastic entrepreneurs, Mr. Deepak and
Dinesh Dhadoti.
ServoControls India Pvt. Ltd, Belgaum enjoys the privilege of
supplying cryogenic position sensors for the accomplishment
of Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) a runaway success of ISRO
Servo controls is entrenched in the current business scenario

Mr.Deepak candidly developed the feeling of patriotism which


spurred him to move back to India. This feeling was further
reinforced by Deepaks fathers interest who often quoted the
phrase Janani Janma bhoomi shacha swaragadapi
gariyasi.
This is a live example to fall in line with Make in India
campaign launched by the current Prime Minister Sri Narendra
Modi.

BACKGROUND NOTE

Deepak, a young engineer, gave up his green card in US. To start up


a high precision, high technology company, Servo controls Pvt. Ltd,
in Belgaum, a small city in the North Karnataka, India.
Born to a middle class family, their father worked as a cashier in a
bank. Right from his childhood Deepak was a meticulous and
zealous boy, escalating to international standards after coming out a
Government Kannada medium school as Mr. Deepak did is a
remarkable transformation.
Deepak helped his parents to milk the cows they reared
then and sell the milk door to door exemplifies his humble
background.
He invested his time to learn and work on computer by
sacrificing precious sleep in the wee hours from 3am to 6am

EARLY CHALLENGES
The company has had a bumpy ride be it the raising of
loan or choosing a site or obtaining Electricity permission
etc.
Lack of access to Belgaum by air route owing to
infrequently used airport was a major constraint faced by
customers.
Getting Industrial License considering the macro factor
uncertainty of aerospace business, attracting customers in
a situation controlled by cut throat competition with
MNCs etc was an uphill task
Scams pertaining to defense had freezed tender calling
process Company had to withstand and overcome this
erratic phase.

DPP PROJECT WAS A SHOT IN THE
ARM
Defense Procurement Procedure (DPP): the
offset policy is simple: foreign firms who win
major defense contracts must pump back at least
30 percent of the contract value to the Indian

with a tier 1 supplier for the Sukhoi 30 aircraft.

Servocontrols India Pvt, ltd, at a symposium organized by
the Aeronautical society of India.
Dr. Kalam exclaimed to Dr. Saraswat the Director of
Defense Research & Development Organization (DRDO)
This man give him a push! Give him lot of projects,
proprietary tenders, he is young make him work hard.
Agreements with Russian Company Voskhod makers of
aircraft actuations Aerospace were the worthy outcomes. To
cater to these business needs and work on several incoming
projects Servocontrols grew big by expanding workforce to
provide shelter to 120 employees by 2010 and 156 in 2014.

2009
STINT WITH MR. RATAN TATA
Untiring and relentless efforts of Mr. Deepak and his team
yielded coveted results in the form of TATAs assigning
subcontracting to servo controls. Usually TATAs get the lion
share of defense projects.
14th October , A memorable project related to TATAs T-72/T-90
tanks and simulators Which normally takes 8-10 months was
executed in 3 months by Servocontrols India Pvt. Ltd.

2014 A RENOWNED ACCOMPLISHMENT

ORGANIZATIONAL

Supplying cryogenic detective sensors for the accomplishment of


Mars orbiter Mission (MOM) a runaway success of ISRO.
It is the only company in India to have a Design studio.
Manufacturing and testing all under one roof.
AS9100 B & ISO 9001 certification. They participated in the several
shows in 2007 & 2009 held in Bangalore and in the Paris Air show in
2009. Servocontrols India Pvt. Ltd is one of the few Indian
companies with AS9100 B certification backed by unparallel
reputation for quality & extensive field experience.
Esteem for having participated and contributed its bit not only to
civil aircrafts but also to space missions like Chandrayan and many
more.
In 2013, Servocontrols recorded a turnover of 100 crores.

FUTURE PLANS

Realizing an upward trend in our business we have
started constructing a new manufacturing unit at Hattargi
32kms from Belgaum.
Mr. Deepak Wants his company to fly high in 200
crore orbit in the next 5 years, strategic measures are in
place to accomplish this ambition, he expressed further
with optimism.
He is not a person to allow complacency to set in. He is
mindful of the fact that the foreign companies with
mammoth financial reserves may chew and spit smaller
companies in no time.

CURRENT CHALLENGES

encounters problems of talent shortage; hence
the hunt for right talent is always on

foundries emitting industrial dust poses a greater
challenge and thus makes company lay high
