NATURE AND FUNCTION

1. SUPPORT

Support can classified into two types

which that are:
a. Saddle
will be install on horizontal vessel
only.
b. Skirt
will be install on vertical vessel and
also on spherical vessel.

2. Usually material used to produce
saddle is made from aluminium
alloy casting.
3. Could also use other casting iron
to replace aluminium alloy casting.
4. The main function was to support
cylindrical and spherical pressure
vessel.

2. NOZZLE
1. Can be classified into two shape which
that are:
a. Forging
b. Pipe
2. Used to control fluid movement pulled
out or entered to pressure vessel.
3. Nozzle orientation should be consider
with internal vessel attachment.

1. The function of bootlegs is to
separate oil and water in pressure
vessel.
2. Usually are used at separator
pressure vessel.
3. Vortex breaker will happen in section
bootlegs.

5. BRIDLES AND INSTRUMENTATION
1. The bridles is including piping
equipment namely :

small butt-welded
socket welded
screwed-welded

2. Bridles can be use to hold pressure

measurement and valve equipment.

6. PLATFORM
1. Like small elevated walkways around the
outside of a vessel or between equipment
and structure.
2. Usually 3 wide and they have a floor
made of steel grating or plate.
3. With 3 tall handrails, workers can safely
operate, inspect and maintain a vessel.
4. Platforms are spaced not more than 30
and not closer than 8.

7. PIPE SUPPORT AND GUIDE
1. It is made from suitable iron wherever
material selection very important.
2. Function to support pipe that had
pulled out or entered to pressure
vessel.
3. Used also to avoid pipe movement
from their current position when the
vessel in normal operation.

8. BRACKETS
1. Resides in various types and form.
2. Material use for bracket must be
suitable with material or component
weight to be support and the
pressure.
3. The function of bracket is to hold
other component and also to prevent
component movement from their
current position.

9. LIFTING LUG
1. Donut-shape rings welded to the
vessels shell or head.
2. Material for lifting lug must be
suitable with vessel total weight to
avoid any incident.
3. It will use to allow the vessel to be
raised and positioned during
installation.

1. Are shaped like L's letter.
2. Usually available in form round bar.
3. Material selection to generate davit

11. VESSEL NAME PLATE
1. Usually it is in square shape.
2. Have all information about the
pressure vessel including maximum
working pressure, year built and etc.
3. Need to install at pressure vessel
before delivery process carried out.
