NGO
• A non-governmental organization (NGO) is an
organization that is not part of a government and
was not founded by states

• NGOs now play a vital role in the delivery process of


social benefits and help in the implementation of
other welfare schemes of the government
HUMAN UNITY MOVEMENT
(HUM)
• Human Unity Movement (HUM) is a voluntary
organization working with the idea to unite
humanity by working together for the same cause.

• It was started under the leadership of a great


visionary, Dr. Anshumali Sharma, who had a vision
to help the help the children in need and thus serve
the society as a whole

OBJECTIVES
• To protect the children of tender age and their
childhood
• To organise people from all walks of life for the
upliftment of the downtrodden and all-round
development of the less privileged class of the
society
• To help to eradicate discrimination in society based
on social , economic, political and cultural grounds

CHILDLINE 1098 SERVICE
• HISTORY
• Its first step of understanding the needs of children
on the streets of India, of figuring out how to
reach them effectively.

• What was coming across in those early days was the


need for a toll free , 24 hour service, that could
work across cities, which children could access
from anywhere at anytime!

1098 TELE HELPLINE MODEL
• CHILDLINE is India's first 24-hour, free, emergency
phone service for children in need of aid and
assistance.

• CHILDLINE is a platform bringing together the


Ministry for Women & Child Development,
Government of India, UNICEF,
Department of Telecommunications,, non-profit
organizations, academic institutions, the corporate
sector and concerned individuals.

VISION

A child - friendly nation that guarantees


the rights and protection of all children.



OBJECTIVES
• To reach out to every child in need of care and
protection by responding to emergencies on 1098.
• Awareness about CHILDLINE 1098 amongst every
Indian child.
• To provide a platform of networking amongst
organizations and to provide linkages to support
systems that facilitate the rehabilitation of
children in need of care and protection.
• To advocate services for children that are
inaccessible or nonexistent.

CHILDLINE TODAY
• The Government of India has presented CHILDLINE
as its response to the Child Rights Convention
• In 14 years it has grown into a national child
protection service that operates in over 83 cities
and towns in India.
• CHILDLINE over the period of 14 years, has received
13 million calls as of January 2009 from children in
need of care and protection
STRUCTURE OF CHILDLINE
• CHILDLINE functions through a network of NGOs,
academic institutes, the corporate sector and the
allied systems.

Our major contribution to the NGO was-

LEARNINGS

During the one month developed a strong bond with
the children in the shelter home and with
CHILDLINE.
• The functioning of the NGOs.
• Working of CHILDLINE.
• Understanding the work culture of an organization.
• Coordination with other NGOs and Government
officials is of great help most of the times.
• Developed an attitude of empathy towards

the weaker section of the society specially the
childeren

RECOMMENDATIONS
• Tie up with various organizations dealing in marketing
and publicity.
•  Recruit personnel with the required skills.
• Collaboration with other NGO’s in order to make
greater impact to the children needs and to the
society.
•  Centers at various strategic places in order to reach
to the masses.
•  Bigger shelter houses for helping more children.
