Integration/GROWTH
angry,

ones
become
more
spontaneous and joyful at
Seven

Brief Description
Basic Fear: of being corrupt/evil, defective
Basic Desire: to be good, have integrity, be
balanced
Key Motivations

want to be right
to strive higher and improve everything
to be consistent with their ideals
to justify themselves
to be beyond criticism so as not to be
condemned by anyone

Why The
Reformer?
roots from the sense of mission
leading one to want to improve the
world by using any degree of influence

strives to overcome adversity (like

moral adversity)
for higher values, even at the cost of
great personal sacrifice

In the Instinctive
Center
Under-expression of instincts and drives
people of action responding at a gut level,
but pull it in to limit and direct it toward the
goals which their superegos consider
worthy

Full of passion/ strong sense of conviction

in their beliefs and actions
yet they feel compelled to keep their
instinct in check in order not to be
overwhelmed by it

Anger is a
powerful
motivation
Disappointing circumstances
anger becomes a form of fuel which
launches them into action

Unaware of Anger
underestimating the degree of it, with a
disclaimer Im not angry! Im just
trying to get this right.

Problems with Repression

and Aggression
Repression of the more irrational side of their
natures, instinctual impulses and personal
desires
to sublimate these and achieve perfection
caught in conflicts between striving after ideals
and implementing them in the real world

Relating to the world dualistically

they see themselves as less than the ideal
while giving the impression that they are also
greater than the environment (hence, they feel
obligated to improve)

Problems with Anger

and Perfection
Finding fault somewhere else
Venting anger most unfairly at others
when angry for not being perfect
Doesnt resolve disordered feelings,
average to unhealthy
aggression in their personalities is an
expression of anger at themselves and
others for not complying perfectly to
the ideal

The Reformer
Perfectionists, responsible, fixated on
improvement
Perfectionists who desire to reform and improve;
idealists who strive to make order out of the
omnipresent chaos
Have a fine eye for detail
Their inability to achieve the perfection they
desire feeds their feelings of guilt for having
fallen short, and fuels their incipient anger
against an imperfect world

The Reformer
Serious people
Often driven and ambitious, and are
sometimes workaholics
Often intelligent and independent;
primarily people of action
