A REVIEW

ON TEACHING METHODS
IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP
EDUCATION

Entrepreneurship Education
Entrepreneurial education is the process of providing
individuals
with the ability to recognise commercial opportunities
and the insight,
self-esteem, knowledge and skills to act on them
( Jones & English, 2004)
Bechard and Toulouse (1998) define Entrepreneurial
Education
as a collection of formalised teachings that informs,
trains
and educates anyone interested in business creation or
small
business venture development
Entrepreneurship education is also one of the main
instruments for
promoting the interests and attitudes towards
entrepreneurial career.
(Kourilsky and Walstad ,1998)

CONCLUTION

Entrepreneurship education is an approach used by educators to

realize the government's goal to increase the number of entrepreneurs.
This goal will not be achieved if the educators are not able to execute
and deliver to the entrepreneurship agenda for student
The appropriate and relevant teaching methods should be used so that
students really understand entrepreneurship and motivate
them to choose careers as entrepreneurs.
The Choice of teaching methods in accordance with its objectives,
will have a great influence on learning outcomes
(Heinonen, J., & Poikkijoki, SA, 2006).
The results of this review has identified 20 teaching methods
used or proposed to teach entrepreneurship education. Traditional methods
still dominate the teaching methods that are often used by educators

SUGGESTION

The researcher suggested that a framework for entrepreneurship education

teaching methods should be developed to assist in education, especially those
who do not have a background in entrepreneurship.

The study of entrepreneurship education teaching methods need to be

developed and multiplied in Malaysia because so far this study conducted
Most of the European countries and still less carried out in other countries
such as Asia, especially in our own country.

Organizing and appropriate educational workshops for educators,

especially educators not teaching in entrepreneurship education
