First Configuration : TCO usage

TCO Usage
Presentation

Long term goal of TCO is to get rid of external software sources. But it is still
a long way, and we go forward, steps by steps

At the present time, TCO should be used

To configure an equipement, from blank configuration (first configuration)
By people not specially familiar with CT-K, in order to be able to align antennas

Configuration by TCO MUST be followed by standard commissionning steps.

Connected modes Remote connection type

If launched from "start" page, SUT and AS will prompt for the IP address of NE
to be reached.

"Remote" mode supposes the NE is pingable.

For example the PC LAN address is in the same network as the NE
(10.0.1.2/255.0.0.0 by default).
This mode can be used via F interface if LLMan has been launched and the
logical connection is OK.

Connected modes Local connection type

"Local" mode is used when the PC LAN card is physically linked to Eth/OS NE
interface, but the connection is not logically established : PC LAN card is not
in the same network, or has no address (configured in DHCP).

The script looks for active Network Adapters and asks the operator to choose
the one that is used.

The script will then modify its parameters to put an address which is in the
network of the NE.

Bug : The related LAN interface needs

to have (both) DNS servers indicated.
Even fake ones.

TCO Usage
PPT, SUT and AS
PPT is the back-office tool to build and to edit configuration files. These files
will be saved in xml like files, with a qcml extension.
SUT allows
to send a configuration file to a NE
to get the file from a configured equipement (in order to store it, to edit it later, ).

AS is also called NE web browser : if the logical connection exists, the

application can be launched directly from a standard web browser.
