Summary

Background

Vico as pipeline operator has responsibility to deliver and

manage gas export in East Kalimantan pipeline system.

The gas is categorized based on CH4 composition. Lean gas is

define as gas export which have relatively higher CH4 than the
other gas (rich gas).

Lean gas is prioritized to be delivered to domestic industry

which prefer to receive higher CH4 gas.

Until lean gas can 100% fulfill domestic, the shortage of

domestic demand (450 MMscfd) will be make up by rich gas.

The remaining gas will be delivered to Bontang LNG

The Bontang LNG has 5 trains available, with CO2 feed gas
limitation of 8% except for train H of 6.5 %.

Some cases of upstream field shutdown (and also pipeline

failure) may cause different feed gas composition in inlet
Bontang LNG causing plant operation disturbance.

SUMMARY

Starting from 2020, F2** start to produce lean gas to

fulfill domestic demand

Case 5 at 2027 shows that the East Kal gas export only
for domestic industry causing Bontang LNG shutdown
due to no gas supply.

All cases show the impact of upstream plant shutdown

regards to CO2 composition will not causing Bontang LNG
shutdown.

Recomendation

To check to Bontang LNG whether the significant

composition changes in year 2022-2025 can affect plant
disturbance.
