2) Consignment on imported electrical products

SIRIM QAS International, through our Consignment Laboratory of the Electrical and Electronic
Section offers consignment services for imported, regulated electrical products. The consignment
service or also known as Batch Certification is an alternative to product Certification. Under the
consignment service ,approval is given only to consignment which have satisfactorily gone
through the inspection and testing process .Upon approval ,EIU labels with a quantity equivalent
to the consignment size will be issued to the applicant and these labels shall be affixed to each
unit of products under the consignment.
All imported electrical products shall be:
a)Suitable to be used in Malaysia
b)Designed for tropical condition
c)Able to operate at a voltage of 240V(+5%,-10%) and at a frequency of 50Hz
d)Attached with 3-pin plug (13A) or 2-pin plug(2.5A),suitable for Malaysia Socket-outlet.

To facilitate the application process ,the following documents shall be submitted:

a)PP7-Application form (and Annex of PP7-Product Information and Consignment Approval)
b)PP8-Issuance of Labels
c)Import Permit Issued by EIU(Electrical Inspectorate Unit)
d)Copy of certificate of approval from EIU
e)Copy of type test report (if applicable)
f)Invoice, packing list bill of lading and K1-form
g)Fees (for inspection and Testing)
