INTRODUCTION
Scabies is zoonotic.

However, the animal mite cannot reproduce

on a person and will die on its own.

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

The study is done to
prove the folkloric use of
Makabuhay stem (Tinospora
rumphii L.,Menispermaceae)
as a scabicidal agent.

The researchers would

also like to pursue this study
to contribute to the progress
of new studies for this skin
disease.

OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY

This study aims to prove the
scabicidal
activity
of
prepared
ointments from Makabuhay stem
(Tinospora
rumphii
Boerl
L.,
Menispermaceae)
that
will
be
compared to Akapulko leaves (Cassia
alata
L.,
Leguminosae).

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

The study will seek the answers
to the following problems:
1. What are the physical and chemical
properties of the Makabuhay stem
(Tinospora rumphii Boerl L.,
Menispermaceae)?
2. What are the physical properties of the
prepared ointment from Makabuhay stem
(Tinospora rumphii Boerl L.,
Menispermaceae)?

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

(continued)

3. Will the prepared ointment from

Makabuhay stem (Tinospora rumphii
Boerl L., Menispermaceae) cause
irritation in dogs
4. Does the prepared ointment from
Makabuhay stem (Tinospora rumphii
Boerl L., Menispermaceae) have
scabicidal activity in dogs infected with
Sarcoptes scabiei mite?

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

(continued)
5. Is there a significant difference
between the scabicidal activity of the
prepared ointment from Makabuhay
stem (Tinospora rumphii Boerl L.,
Menispermaceae) compared to the
prepared ointment from Akapulko leaves
(Cassia alata L., Leguminosae)?
