INTRODUCTION
. According to the IRDA,
Health insurance business or health cover means
the effecting of contracts which provide sickness
benefits or medical, surgical or hospital expense
benefits whether in-patient or out patients, on an
indemnity, reimbursement, service, prepaid,
hospital or other plans basis, including assured
benefits and long term care.

PRIMARY DATA
Primary data is the one that is collected directly from the
hospitals from the patients who had health insurance and also
collected from TPAs through structured questionnaire.
SECONDARY DATA
The secondary data was collected mostly from annual reports
of IRDA, journals published from IRDA and information
provided from IIB(Insurance Information Bureau)
SAMPLE SIZE
Sample size plays an important role in the accuracy of results
and in the appropriateness of the chosen statistical technique
600 respondents were contacted and obtained responses with
the help of the Structured Questionnaire from TPAs,
HOSPITALS,PATIENTS
SAMPLE DESIGN
The sample was selected according to the availability,
ability to answer the questions and general awareness. For
the present study Non probability convenient sampling
method has been selected
The research methodology adopted is mainly for analysis of
performance of the TPAs. Ratio analysis is used for the
study. The CARMEL parameters have been tested
statistically with the help of the following statistical tools.

Standard deviation
F-test
Regression analysis( growth model)
