BIOPRODUK

DEFINISI
Non-food products developed from
biomass originating from agricultural, food,
forestry, marine and industrial and municipal
sources.
Products which were derived from biomass,
specifi cally biomass from agricultural crops,
forestry, marine & aquaculture, food
processing, animal manure, industrial and
municipal organic waste
Products made with some component of
biological or renewable materials.
The bio in bioproducts relates to inputs derived
from biological resources, including agriculture (e.g.,
crops and crop residues, dried distillers grains) and/or

PERKEMBANGAN BIOPRODUK
Ratusan tahun yll manusia bergantung pada
bioproduk untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pangan,
material & kebutuhan energi
Muncul revolusi industri masyarakat makin
bergantungpada energi bahan bakar fosil untuk
listrik, panas & transportasi
Industri kilang minyak mengembangkan aplikasi
produk samping petroleum dalam barang2 konsumsi
& industri

KENAPA BIOPRODUK...?
Hasil pertanian fl uktuasi harga
overproduction
biaya proses yang tinggi (misal:
pupuk)

Konsep bioeconomy off ers the potential to

contribute signifi cantly to the overall economies.
Manufacture of biobased products provides the opportunity
to benefi t all participants
Ada nilai lebih dari barang komoditas dan hasil sampingnya

yg dulunya mungkin dianggap sbg limbah

BIOECONOMY
There is no universally accepted defi nition of
bioeconony
However.....
It can basically be described as an economy based
on the sustainable manufacture of products
in whole or in part
from renewable resources
includes all processes, from feedstock production
through the processing stage (s) to the
manufacture of end products , in addition to
research, development & commercialization
processes.

THE BIOBASED ECONOMY

Based on effi cient bioprocesses and
sustainable, renewable bioresources
Enabled by major advances in information
technology, biological sciences,
chemistry, physics and engineering
Potential to stabilize economics of key
resource sectors (esp. agriculture,
forestry)
Potential to create jobs in rural areas
Will enhance human and environmental
health
Role in improving national and economic
security
