Use no font size smaller than 24 point

as far as possible

No more than 6-8 words per line

No more than 6 lines per slide

Avoid yellow
Avoid times new roman font
Avoid italics
AVOID ALL CAPITAL

10

Preparing power point slides contd..

Using a font color that does not contrast with
the background color is hard to read
Using color for decoration is distracting and
annoying.
Using a different color for each point is
unnecessary
Using a different color for secondary points is
also unnecessary

Trying to be creative can also be bad

11

Preparing power point slides contd..

Points always numbered or bulleted
Subheadings indented
When you go to next point, the previous one

should become dull

All slides should be numbered

Visual Aids use as much/many as possible
12

Preparing Power Point Slides contd..

If you need to use a slide twice, duplicate

it.
Always check your slides - for spelling

errors, consistency of fonts and layout.

13

Use pictures or graphs as appropriate

14

Why Graphs?
Use graphs rather than just charts and
words
Data in graphs is easier to comprehend &
retain than is raw data
Trends are easier to visualize in graph form
