Image Fusion Algorithms for

Medical Images-A Comparison

Abstract
In our proposed system we fuse the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and
Computed Tomography (CT) image.
In these fusion we develop the new algorithm and compare with the existing
algorithm.
The fusion result comparison based on the root mean square error (RMSE), peak
signal to noise ratio (PSNR), Mutual Information (MI) and Entropy (H).
And than prove our proposed algorithm gives the better result compare to the
existing methods.

Introduction
In computer vision, Multi-sensor Image fusion is the process of combining relevant
information from two or more images into a single image.
Image fusion has become a common term used within medical diagnostics and
treatment.
The term is used when multiple images of a patient are registered and overlaid or
merged to provide additional information. Fused images may be created from multiple
images from the same imaging modality or by combining information from multiple
modalities such as magnetic resonance image (MRI), computed tomography (CT).

Existing method
In existing method we fuse the medical image by using basic algorithms.
The PCA,DWT,SWT and curvelet based image fusion.
Above these method we find the pixel information(feature) form
different algorithm and use this information we combine the image.
Here the information taken form remove the non-information pixel in
the image. It is easy way to needed pixel for image fusion.

Disadvantages
In existing method there several disadvantages is there.
The existing got the low information from the images.
In existing we the curvelet is best algorithm but it got information
image with low accuracy compare to the proposed method.

Proposed
In Proposed method we use the fractional furrier transformation for
getting information from the image.
It is working basically furrier transformation method. It get the
information form image to transfer the image pixel in time domain
based on the frequency.
It got better feature by analyze the frequency range of the
transformation.

Advantages
In proposed method we can easily find the non-repeated pixel for fuse
the image.
It gives the better accurate result compare to the existing method by
getting the more information form the image.

Images
In our proposed we use medical images for fusion, the medical image
fusion is important for matching the CT and MRI images for easy
analyzing the patient details.
The CT and MRI image got different information if we fusion the both
by select the non-repeated information because it help to give the more
information for analyze after fusion the images.

FRFT (Fractional furrier transformation)

The FRFT belongs to the class of timefrequency representations that
have been extensively used by the signal processing community.

Image fusion
After we get the information from the image than we can fuse the
image based on the information.
That fusion one image information is act as a rules and another one for
fuse the both image with based on the rules.
That fused image give the more information compare to the normal
image. It helpful to analyze the with high accuracy level.

Analyze
The analyze can able to find the performance of our proposed
algorithm.
In our proposed system we use root mean square error (RMSE), peak
signal to noise ratio (PSNR), Mutual Information (MI) and Entropy
(H). For find the performance of our work.
That proposed analyze work better than the existing method.

Conclusion
The analyzing parameter gives the performance details of our
proposed work.
That result shows the proposed work is better than our existing
method.
