Eczema
• Inflammatory nature.
• Dermatitis or inflammation of the
skin.
• May be genetic in origin.
• Young adults of both the sexes
• Common in summers.

• Acute
– Redness with an ill-defined border. Papules
large blister, vesicles and scaling.
• Sub acute
– Redness and crusting are present
without the extreme swelling.
• Chronic
– Less vesicular more scaly, skin pigmented and
thickened and with fissures.
• According to Ayurveda, eczema is a minor
form of leprosy and is caused by the
aggravation of kapha in addition to vata and
pitta.

Dandruff
• Dandruff - Seborrhoeic dermatitis.
• Caused by the excess formation of sebum.
• The irritation due to this causes dandruff, producing
dry or greasy scales.
• Produce red patches of the scalp with large scales
and sometimes a thick crest.
• Worse by sweating.
• Sebum does contain compounds that are powerful
hair removers.
• Darunaka - due to increase of Kapha and Vata.

Candidiasis
• Candidiasis (yeast infection) is infection by the
yeast Candida.
• Tends to occur in moist areas of the skin.
• Cause rashes, scaling, itching, swelling.
• Candida is a normal resident of the mouth,
digestive tract, and vagina that usually causes no
harm.
• Under certain conditions Candida can overgrow
on mucous membranes and moist areas of the
skin.
• Hot, humid weather, Poor hygiene, Tight synthetic
underclothing
• Use of antibiotics or corticosteroids and other
drugs that suppress the immune system

Tinea
• Tinea Versicolor, Jock itch, athlete's foot, and
ringworm, are all types of fungal skin infections
known collectively as tinea.
• They're caused by fungi called dermatophytes
that live on skin, hair, and nails and thrive in
warm, moist areas.
• The source of the fungus
might be soil, an animal
(most often a cat, dog, or
rodent), or another person.
