What is Firefox?
Firefox or Mozilla Firefox (the full name) is an open-source web

browser which was developed by Mozilla Foundation. It was created in

the year 2002.

Features of Firefox
Firefox has many features as other web-browsers could have, such as

tabbed browsing, spell checking, download manager, Smart Bookmarks

, and lots more. You could even add themes onto Firefox also.

There are apparently 6 operating systems of Firefox in total :

Windows, OS X, Linux, Android, iOS, and Firefox OS.

History of how far Firefox has

come until this day.
Mozilla Firefox project was created by Dave Hyatt and Blake Ross. It

was first released on September 23, 2002 (version 0.1. The browser na
me is Phoenix.
Firefox 1.0 was released on November 9, 2004. The launch of version
1.0 was accompanied by "a respectable amount of pre-launch fervor"
including a fan-organized campaign to run a full-page ad in The New
York Times.

On October 24, 2006, Mozilla released Firefox 2. This version

includes updates to the tabbed browsing environment; the extensions m

anager; the GUI (Graphical User Interface); and the find, search and so
ftware update engines.
Firefox 3 was released on June 17, 2008 by the Mozilla Corporation.
Firefox 3 had more than 8 million unique downloads the day it was
released, setting a Guinness World Record.

 Rapid release: In April 2011, the development process was split

into several "channels", each working on a build in a different stage

of development. It has released version 4-9.

 In the year 2012, Firefox has released version 10-17. The

improvement include: Firefox on Mac OS X now has preliminary Voic

eOver support turned on by default, Migration of settings from Google
Chrome, The default home page now has quicker access to bookmarks,
history, settings, and more
In the year 2013, Firefox has released version 17-26. The
improvement include : Faster JavaScript performance via IonMonkey c
ompiler, Support for Retina displays on OS X 10.7 and up, Better ima
ge quality with Mozilla's new HTML scaling algorithm.

 In the year 2015, Firefox has released version 31-43. The

improvement include : Firefox Hello with new rooms-based conversati

ons model, Pinned tiles on the new tab page can be synced, Added ful
l support for HTTP/2.
In the year 2016 (Jan-Aug) , Firefox has released version 43-48 The
improvement include: Embedded YouTube videos now play with HT
ML5 video if Flash is not installed, Ability to view and search open ta
bs from your smartphone or another computer in a sidebar.

Firefox Vs. Google Chrome

The page loading time duration ofGoogle chrome VS Mozilla Firefox

was compared. According to the results, Google Chrome is better in t

his field. Many additional elements are present in Google Chrome, so i
t loads the page faster than Firefox.
Firefox was the second-most used web browser until December 2011,
Google Chrome then surpassed because of its more high quality speed,
security, and extensions that couldnt be found anywhere else.
