PROGRESS
So far the structural steel pipe rack has been modelled and
analysed in staad after application of loads as calculated in the
Phase-1.
Section for columns : W8x31
: W10x26
Section for beam
: L30x30x4
Section for brace
Structure was found to be safe as per the AISC 360-10
specifications/codal provisions.
Drift and deflection was found to be under permissible limits.

PROGRESS
Base plate connection was designed using RAM base plate
connection software with thickness of 0.75 and structural steel
bolt if . Base plate was found to be safe and critical ratio was
found to be 0.48
Anchor Bolt of 1 was designed using developed Excel
spreadsheet and was found to be safe under tension and shear with
embedment depth of 24
Design of pile cap has been done with 14 square piles with
available capacities.
2 Piles are provided under each pile cap and were found to be
sufficient.

PROGRESS
Extraction of steel and foundation drawings has been started and
will be completed at the end of May 2015 (in shaa allah).
First draft copy of the phase-2 report has been submitted to my
guide Dr. BK Singh for further review and comment.
