Profile of the Trust

Introduction
Hepatitis B & C and liver related diseases have assumed the status of a recurring and costly
disease in the Pakistan. There are an estimated 18 million patients suffering from hepatitis B &
C in Pakistan, in which 7 million of hepatitis B and 11 million of hepatitis C patients and many
more are falling victims of it. The majority of hepatitis patients are related to poor parts of
Pakistan, who are unable to afford the treatment for such very lethal diseases. Hepatitis & General
Welfare Trust (HGWT) is striving hard to reach out to the needy and to get their suffering lessen.
In spite fighting with the world-worst terrorism
the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) and
Pakistan have also been fighting with the
chronic hepatitis B & C since long. In order to
promote awareness regarding these deadly
diseases in Pakistan, the establishment of
Hepatitis & General Welfare Trust emerged on
August 01, 2006 and has adopted the policy of
providing best service to the destitute and
needy people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) as
well as in Pakistan who carry the scare of this
epidemic disease.

The rural areas of N.W.F.P. are badly affected


by the disease due to the prevailing
unhygienic conditions, lack of medical
facilities, and scanty knowledge of the people
about the virus. From the very inception,
HGW has taken a number of initiatives with
the aim of creating awareness among the
masses and to provide the best available
treatment to them.

The present interim structure of HGWT reflects the provisions of a diverse


makeup commensurate with the new vision and takes into consideration the
role of services, treatments. HGWTs structure to be evolved overtime, will
keep in considerations realities of present day and age, which requires that
structure to cater to division vertically and across. Helping it meet the
incremental increase in targets would consequently be the responsibility of
the legacy human capital of the HGWT who have managed the Organizations
day-to-day service at its current head office in Peshawar.
The above schematic of the wheel of function and services will act as a focus
and term of reference for the Organization Development and HR consultants
particularly retained for the transformation process. The critical asset of an
organization is unquestionably its people. It is the commitment of employees

Since the TRUST became into its existence various kind of
tests have been conducting, which is being endured by
Trust not only a number Hepatitis B & C tests are
conducted but also special chemistry and so many other
blood related tests are done in Trust. Monthly wise
statement are enclosed as per annex A, B, C.

Free Medical and Free Tests Camps


Keeping in view the facts, the TRUST have
been conducted FREE MEDICAL and FREE
TESTS Camps (by HBS AG and HCV AB
device) in different parts of Peshawar District
and its suburbs as well as in District
Nowshera and Charsadda. The camps records
are enclosed as per annex D, E, F
and G.

As Hepatitis took place of a common disease the Board of
Director of Hepatitis & General Welfare Trust, Peshawar also
contended through SEMINARS & WORKSHOPS against this deadly
disease with the motto Eradication of Hepatitis from Pakistan,
in this connection TWO SEMINARS were organized in the
premises of TRUST.
