Models of Guidance

Apostles :
They did not leap from ground zero
to the dizzy heights of spirit rulership
in a single bound.

Neither will we

Models of Guidance
Having once understood the radical
implications of being a people under the
direct administration of the Holy Spirit,
one of the most destructive things we
can do is to say

Sounds Wonderful
Beginning tomorrow Ill live that way

Models of Guidance
St.Francis Monk of Assisi
Francis enjoyed a very rich easy life growing up
because
of
his
father's
wealth
and
the
permissiveness of the times. From the beginning
everyone -- and I mean everyone -- loved Francis. He
was constantly happy, charming, and a born leader.
If he was picky, people excused him. If he was ill,
people took care of him. If he was so much of a
dreamer he did poorly in school, no one minded. In
many ways he was too easy to like for his own good.
No one tried to control him or teach him.

Models of Guidance
Francis' conversion did not happen over night. God had
waited for him for twenty-five years and now it was
Francis' turn to wait. Francis started to spend more time
in prayer. He went off to a cave and wept for his sins.
Sometimes God's grace overwhelmed him with joy. But
life couldn't just stop for God.
He called his fellow human beings as brothers and

sisters
He was the founder of the Fanciscan movement.

Meetings for Clearness
To seek the mind of the Spirit for some individuals
question.
This model is followed by the Church of the saviour in
Washington D.C.
Sound the call (Member shares the vision that he / she senses)
Test the call (They probe the issue praying, questioning, searching)

It is possible for business decisions to be made under a

sense of the corporate leading of the Holy spirit.

Models of Guidance
Business meetings should be viewed as worship
services.
The spirit can lead contrary to or in accord with the
available facts.

God will implant a spirit of unity when the

right path has been chosen and trouble us with
restlessness when we have not heard correctly
Unity rather than majority rule is the principle
of corporate guidance.
Spirit given unity goes beyond mere
agreement.

Models of Guidance
Richard foster attended a business session of some two hundred
people in which an issue had been earnestly debated. Though
there was a sharp difference of opinion, each of the members
sincerely desired to hear and obey the will of God. After a
considerable period of time, a united sense of direction began to
emerge among all except a few people.
Finally, one person stood up and said, I do not feel right about
this course of action, but I hope that the rest of you will love me
enough to labour with me until I have the same sense of Gods
leading as the rest of you or until God opens another way for us.

Ephesians 4: 3 Keep every effort to keep the unity of

the spirit through the bond of peace
