Utilizamos Present Perfect para hablar de:
PAST SIMPLE
Past Tenses
PAST CONTINUOUS
para acciones que se estn desarrollando y de repente algo o alguien las
interrumpe. Para hablar de la accin que se desarrolla en el tiempo (me estaba
duchando, estaban escuchando msica) utilizamos el PAST CONTINUOUS y para
nombrar la accin que interrumpe (cuando el telfono son) utilizamos el PAST
SIMPLE. She was doing her homework, when the phone rang.
para describir una escena de una historia pasada. The sun was shining and the
birds were singing when she arrived. (= El sol estaba brillando y los pjaros estaban
cantando cuando ella lleg).
para hablar de acciones del pasado que ocurrieron a la vez. I was sewing while I
was watching TV. (= Estaba cosiendo mientras vea la tele).
para hablar de acciones del pasado que se repetan varias veces. They were
always talking about girls when they were teenagers. (= Ellos estaban siempre hablando
de chicas cuando eran adolescentes).
para hablar de intenciones, cosas que planeabas hacer en el pasado y que
muchas veces no hiciste al final. She was planning to go to the gym, but she fell asleep.
(= Ella plane ir al gimnasio, pero se qued dormida).
Past Tenses
PAST PERFECT
para hablar de una accin del pasado que ocurri antes que
otra. Ex: Yo haba limpiado toda la casa cuando el perro sucio apareci. I had
cleaned the whole house when the dirty dog turned up. Yo haba reservado ya
las entradas para el concierto cuando ella llam para decir que estaba
enferma. I had already booked the tickets for the concert when she phoned to
say that she was ill.

Future Tenses
FUTURE SIMPLE
para las condicionales de primer grado: If you save money, you
will be able to buy a house. If you study hard, you will pass your exam.
IF + PRESENT SIMPLE, WILL + INFINITIVE
para hacer predicciones sobre cosas que crees que van a
pasar.
expect, wonder y hope. Think: creer, pensar. I think he will pass the exam
= creo que aprobar el examen. Expect: imaginarse, esperar. I expect he will
be late = seguro que llega tarde. Wonder: preguntarse uno mismo. I wonder
what he will do now = me pregunto qu har ahora. Hope: esperar. I hope
hell stay in touch = espero que l se mantendr en contacto. Y despus de
algunos adverbios como probably y perhaps. He will probably come = es
probable que venga. Perhaps he will come = quizs viene, a lo mejor viene.
para hablar de decisiones que se toman en el momento o
reacciones espontneas. The phone is ringing. Ill answer it.
para ofrecer ayuda: Ill give you a hand, if you like.
para hacer promesas. Believe me, Ill never do it again.
para hacer invitaciones o peticiones de forma educada. Will you come
to the theatre with me?
EN INGLES ORAL: normalmente will y will not los contraemos y sustituimos
por ll o por wont, excepto en las preguntas.
SHALL: lo utilizamos en preguntas con las personas de I y We para: ofrecer
ayuda, pedir consejo o hacer una sugerencia. Shall I give you a lift? Shall we
go swimming?
