RESEARCH SYNOPSIS

The research synopsis is the plan for your research


project.
It provides the rationale for the research, the research
objectives, the proposed methods for data collection
etc.
A synopsis should be constructed in a manner that
facilitates the reviewer to understand the research
project at a glance
It should be brief but precise

THE SECTIONS TITLE
1. Title
This should be brief and self-explanatory
It should neither be too short nor too long

Examples:
Factors aff ecting the upward mobility of women in accounting
fi rm

2. INTRODUCTION
Should contain brief background of the selected topic
Should identify the importance of study, its relevance
and applicability of results
Should clearly state the purpose of the study

3. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

A clear, precise, succinct statement of specifi c issue


that a researcher wish to investigate
Examples:
How do price and quality rate on consumers
evaluation of product?
What are the eff ect of downsizing on the long range
growth patterns of companies

4. REVIEW OF LITERATURE
