Tunisia fell because of the revolt of the Youth (Arab Spring)

Egypt, Libya, Syria and now even Iraq.

The people powering ISIS are mostly Youth.

The youth can change the world.

It is increasing the quantity and quality

of opportunities for young people to


serve as decision-makers in an
organization and community, which in
turn establishes a culture where youth
involvement is a universal community
principle (Youth Service Journal, 2003)

Youth Today
They are fiercely individualistic.
They are media-savvy.
They are comfortable with - and

bombarded by - the abundance of


technologies that exist today.
They are extremely stressed in their

everyday lives.
They also strongly believe that they can

make the world a better place- a perfect

Today's young adults are open to finding

several different ways to care.

Among the issues they find compelling

are:
health
substance abuse
children's issues
the elderly
violence prevention
PEACE PROCESS
and the environment

LEGISLATION
Constitutional Democracy
Laws are enacted/created
Congress of the Philippines

the

HOR and Senate

who will implement/execute
Courts enforces/interprets

LEGISLATION

Before a law passes congress, a member or a

group of them authors it


Lobby groups try to find an author to champion it
Lobbying is the most important aspect as this is

where interests are forwarded

Corporations, etc.

The youth should actively engage in lobbying.

PROGRESSIVE POLICIES

Recognition of rights
Sensitive to religious, cultural and

individual choices
Welfare policies
Security
Focus on minorities and

marginalized

Why the Youth?


They comprise the majority of the

Bangsamoro population
The future definitely belongs to the

youth old ones fade


The kind of training that the youth have

today will affect their actions in the


future
Any attempts at achieving a long lasting

peace is irrelevant if the youth does not


participate

Understand
Act
Be involved!
Be the role model

Organize
Community-building is the best tool to

forward a movement
Social Media
School student governments
NGOs, etc.
List down the policies you want to

forward
Plan and identify the possible champions

Walk the Talk and Share

It is not enough that we only know we have to

act as well.
Must preach what is learnt.
Protect.

Be the Vanguard

Question anything that disrupts peace


Never stop finding peace
Protect the peace
