Antibiotic Resistance

The burden of antibiotic resistance bacteria has

been increasing over the years and has been a
major health problem in the last decades

The deleterious effect of multidrug resistant

bacterial infection has been increasing the level of
mortality

This resistance has impacted on the excess

number of deaths, bed-days, and hospital costs

The need to find a cure has never became so

apparent

Conclusion

Curcumin, a natural polyphenolic compound possess a

potent antibacterial activity against resistant strain of
bacteria in various species
The combination of curcumin and antibiotics could be
developed as a new and safe strategy against multidrug
resistant bacteria.
Further in vivo research regarding the bioavailability
and pharmacodynamics activity of curcumin is
compulsory for developing effective treatment in the
future

Thank You!
