Engineering

Function Allocation
Function allocationalso known astaskallocation
Its a classichuman factorsmethod for deciding
whether a particular function will be
accomplished by a person, technology
(hardware or software) or some mix of person
and technology.
To do this, the investigator considers error rates,
fatigue, costs, hazards, technological feasibility,

Work measurement:

is the application of techniques

designed to establish the time for an average worker to carry
out a specifiedtask at a defined level of performance. It is
concerned with the length of time it takes to complete a work
task assigned to a specific job .

Systematic Recording & critical

examination of the way of doing the task .
Includes improvement of process, layout of factory ,
shop
improvement
etc.

Capacity planning:is the process of determining the
productioncapacity needed by an organization to
meet changingdemandsfor itsproducts.
Material Handling : means providing the right
amount of the right material, in the right condition, at
the right place, at the right time, in the right position
and for the right cost, by using the right method.
Quality Improvement : Is a formal approach to the
analysis of performance and systematic efforts to
improve it.

Process Analysis Dept

Operation Analysis : is a procedure used
to determine the efficiency of various aspects
of a business operation. Most reports include
a careful scrutiny of a company's production
methods, material costs, equipment
implementation and workplace conditions.
Critical Examination Methodology: It
includes what is being done, why it is done,
what else, what should be done?

Multiple Activity Charts : Is chart on

which activities of more than one subject are
recorded to indicate inter-relationship in a
given cycle.

Health and Safety Dept.

Ergonomics : It is science of Designing the
jobs to fit the worker not forcing worker to fit
the job. Adopting Tasks , work stations ,tools
equipment's to fit the worker to help reduce
physical stress.
