CETHAR LIMITED - Brief History

Promoted in 1981 by Engineers with rich experience gained from
the world leader in boiler manufacturing - Bharat Heavy Electricals
Limited, India.
Located at Tiruchirappalli, Tamilnadu, India about 325 kms south
of Chennai.
Commenced manufacturing in 1984.
Commissioned 1256 boilers of various types. (as on January-2012)
Commissioned 34 Captive Power Plants along with BoPs of
cumulative capacity of 835.20 MW.
Another 16 Captive Power Plants of cumulative capacity of 304 MW
are under various stages of execution.
Currently executing Utility Power Projects equivalent to 3460 MW
(EPC including BoP / BTG / BOILER)
Commissioned 18 Numbers GT Exhaust HRSGs.

Super Critical-Steam Generators & Turbine Generator Module

Cethar signed a Memorandum of Understanding with OJSC
Power Machines, Russia to set up a Joint Venture
Company in India for the Design and Manufacture of
Super Critical Steam Turbines and Turbo Generators.
Cethar has signed a collaboration agreement with Riley
Power Inc for Design, Manufacture and Supply Super Critical/
Ultra Super Critical sliding pressure (Benson) Boilers.

World class Manufacturing Seven Units at Trichy in Tamil Nadu.
Units annual capacity 8000 MW 0.1 million MT of Pressure Parts.
Current capacity being enhanced to 12,000 MW by March-2012.
Shops have total land area of 8,47,363 m2 with covered production
shop area of 1,79,695 m2 .
Some of the Critical machines are: 4-Roll Plate Rolling Machine,
Serpentine Coil Bending, Incremental Pipe Bending, Furnace Panel
Welding, Spiral Fin Welding and Stress Relieving Furnaces.
Unit-5 & Unit-7 have ASME Accreditation for S, U, R & PP Stamps;
and approvals for Environmental Management System (EMS)
BS EN ISO 14001:2004 and Occupational Health and Safety
Assessment Series OHSAS 18001:2007.
ISO Certification for all Seven Units with BS EN ISO 9001:2008.
