It is the Ninth chapter of Sushrutha Samhita Sutra sthana , written by Sushrutha.

Sushrutha is the disciple of Divodasa Dhanwantari along with six others namely :
Aupadhenava, Vaitarana, Aurabhra, Paushkalavata, Karavira and Gopura rakshitha.

Main commentary written on Sushrutha Samhita is Nibandha Sangraha by Dalhana

Many Hindi commentaries have been written on sushrutha Samhita by various authors

Principles

Scientific way of Surgical training

This chapter mainly deals with the Surgical training techniques used to train Shalya parampara
students before they carry out surgical procedures on human beings.

karma should be practiced on varieties of Kushmanda and other vegetables as mentioned above.

Sushrutha also mention that Utkartana and Apakartana should me demonstrated to students.

should be practiced on leather bag, urinary bladder and leather sac filled with mud water

should be practiced on broad sheet of leather with hair

should be practiced on veins of dead animals and stalk of lotus flower

should be practiced using holes in pieces of wood eaten by moths , on bamboo, using dry stalks

and using dried pitcher gourd

also by using teeth of dead animals

The one who wishes to perfect surgical procedures like etc , should
practice all these procedures on similar objects having similarity with human structures

Will not be doubtful or fearful during his actual surgical practice.
