WORLD MARKET OF TELECOM INDUSTRY
World telecom industry is an uprising industry, proceeding towards
a goal of achieving two third of the world's telecom connections.
Over the past few years information and communications
technology has changed in a dramatic manner and as a result of
that world telecom industry is going to be a booming industry.
Substantial economic growth and mounting population enable the
rapid growth of this industry.

LITERATURE REVIEW
As per a recent study on corporate investments by the Reserve Bank of
India, the investment in infrastructure is higher at 53 per cent of the cost
in FY'10 as compared to the 45 per cent in FY'09. Power and telecom
accounted for over half of the cost of all projects. The total investment in
the infrastructure sector stood at Rs 2, 95,805 crore in FY'10.
India's telecom sector witnessed an increase in user base by 17.98 million
users in June 2010. The telephone subscriber base in the country's telecom
sector went up to 671.69 million. India's telecom sector is one of the largest
telecom markets in the world and is estimated to touch 700 million
subscribers by 2012.
CONTI
As per the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), the
number of telephone subscriber base in the Indian telecom sector
stood at 653.92 million as on May 31, 2010 thereby recording an
increase of 2.49 per cent from 638.05 million in April 2010.

Recently, the telecom infrastructure firm Quippo-WTTIL has

signed a deal with IBM to provide technical support. The Indian
telecom sector is among the most growing sectors in the country.
CONTI
(Sheetal Srivastava) in her article How do you see the telecom
sector shaping up in the next two to three years? said that with over
350 million telephone subscribers today, India boasts of having the second-
largest telecom subscriber base in the world, after China. The country is
adding 8.5-10 million new subscribers every month and is a clear number one
in terms of fastest growth in the telecom sector.
The next phase of growth will be in the country's rural areas-a development
that would be as important as the Green Revolution in the 1970s. Also,
with a Tele-density of just 8 per cent in rural India, as opposed to 50 per cent
in urban centers, the hinterland offers good scope for expansion in times to
come.
CONTI
Sunil Batra, president - Operations, Tata Teleservices on
the Indian Telecom sector reporting good growth

India, specifically rural India is on the eye of every set of people:

whether its Politician, Bureaucrats, Business Houses, FMCG
companies etc., Telecom Companies are no different then this.
Through this article I suggest challenges ahead and the overview
of Road less traveled by the Indian Companies esp. for Telecom.
CONTI
Indian Telecom Industry will witness its completely new
Beginning by offering the New service to customers like MNP, 3G
& Pre 4G services and entering in to the new terrain of Rural India
with new set of strategies. It will also witness Consolidation very
soon, As per estimates by Dec'2010 There will be around twelve 2G
operators in each telecom circle. Customers and Operators will
witness Darwins Theory of "Survival of Fittest" in coming
CONTI
Let us all welcome the new Beginning and be part of witnessing
the New History being created soon on this soil, soil of country
named INDIA.
RESEARCH
METHODOLOGY
Research can be defined as the search for knowledge, or as any
systematic investigation, with an open mind, to establish novel
facts, solve new or existing problems, prove new ideas, or develop
new theories, usually using a scientific method. The primary
purpose for basic research (as opposed to applied research) is
discovering, interpreting, and the development of methods and
systems for the advancement of human knowledge on a wide
variety of scientific matters of our world and the universe.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

RESEARCH OBJECTIVE
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES

The primary objective of this research study is to know

whether there is any significant impact of employees work
life balance on productivity.
CONTI
SECONDARY OBJECTIVE

To assess various factors (Salary, Performance, Spirituality, Career

Satisfaction, Time for Friends, and Relation with Spouse, Quality Time, Health,
Job Satisfaction, Free Time, and Life Satisfaction) are contributing to
improve employees performance.

Whether the nature of the work is affecting their personal lives.

To suggest proper measures to improve Work life balance of employees.

RESEARCH DESIGN
Research design considered as the blueprint for fulfilling research objectives & answering
question.
In the context of this project report Descriptive and Analytical Research Design is being
followed.
Due to descriptive research in the form of conclusive research that aims to describe a
product or market or identify associations among variables. This covers the research
design that is intended to identify the balance between professional and personal work life
and also finding the determinants which are responsible for that.
SOURCES OF DATA
1. Primary Data - Primary data involves the collection of data that does
not already exist, which is collect by various methods of collecting the
original data.
In this survey we collect the primary data by structured questionnaire
survey.
2. Secondary Data - Secondary data is data collected by someone other
than the user. Common sources of secondary data for social science
include censuses, surveys, organizational records and data collected
through qualitative methodologies or qualitative research.
In this survey we collect the secondary data from Internet, Magazines,

and Newspapers.
Hypothesis Testing
(Chi-Square Test)
Hypothesis (Chi-Square Test)
We wanted to test that whether there is any signification
relationship between effective advertisements of Vodafone
customer attention to understand the above the following
hypothesis was taken:
Step-1

Ho: There is signification relationship between effective

advertisement of Vodafone and customer attention.
H1: There is no signification relationship between effective
advertisement of Vodafone and customer attention.
Step-2

The statistical test being used is chi-square.

Step-3

Let the degree of freedom is =0.05.

Step-4

Degree of
freedom = k-1-c
= 4-1= 3
Step-5
FO FE
EXCELLENT 50 50
VERY GOOD 58 50
GOOD 44 50
BAD 38 50

GOOD

GOOD 44 50 36 0.72

BAD 38 50 144 2.88

200 6.88
Step-7
Because the observed value of chi-square of 6.88 is not greater
than the critical table value of 7.8147 so null hypotheses is
accepted.
Step-8

We have enough evidence that null hypothesis is accepted. So

Preference of factors is uniformly distributed. So we can easily say
that effective advertising create attention on consumer these are
the important factor according to the respondents.
LIMITATION
OF
THE STUDY
LIMITATION OF THE STUDY
Every study has its own limitations and various factors affect them.
In this study there are also limitations which are point out as bellow:
We have to complete work within the stipulated time limit and hence
the sample size was restricted to 200 respondents.
The study is limited to customers using mobile connections in
veraval.
The respondents were not open up to the questions asked by us at
the interview time.
Majority of respondents are not using the Vodafone so we cannot able

to find out the clear picture of the study especially for Vodafone.

awareness of Vodafone in telecommunication sector.
SUGGESTIONS
o There is a great impact of TV ads on people, TV has 90% share
among all types of media in watching ads by people.TV is the first
choice of people for spending their most time as compared to
different kind of media. Majority of the respondents we surveyed are
getting information Of c o m p a n y s p r o d u c t s a n d s e r v i c e
s f r o m t e l e v i s i o n so V o d a f o n eShould be more concentrate
on T.V. advertisement.
o In telecom industry the most important factor which affects
the purchase decision of the customers is advertisement.
Suggestions of friends and relatives also plays major role in this. So
the companies should take care of the existing customers so that they
can recommend the brand to others.
CONCLUSION
The balance between professional and personal life is very
important, playing a large role for a happy and healthy
environment in which to work.
Juggling between the obligations towards the families and
expectations of the organization and constant struggle to
