Microemulsion Method. OUTLINE Introduction Preparation Characterization Introduction Our present technology would be very different without the silica for the catalysts for oil refineries, for the molds for casting the super-alloys in our jet engines, for modern glass and ceramics, electronic microcircuits, quartz crystals, and fiber optics. Thats why in Nanotech age, Silica nanospheres has a great importance in all most all field of science and technology. Nanoparticles are mainly prepared by microemulsion method. A microemulsion is a thermodynamically stable dispersion of two immiscible fluids; the system is stabilized by added surfactant(s). Particles growth, size and shape are well controlled in microemulsion methods. Silica Coating Silica nanosphere have potential applications in drug delivery, ultrasound imaging, catalysts, adsorptive filters. Recently hollow nanoparticles is used for the encapsulation of active biomolecules (enzymes). Micro-encapsulation is a process in which tiny particles or droplets are surrounded by a coating to give small capsules many useful properties. 1. Silica coatings are robust 2. water soluble 3. It can prevent or minimize the aggregation of the coated particles. 4. Silica is also optically transparent and biocompatible 5. The thickness of silica coating can be controlled. Review Many research has been done on Silica coating of different nanoparticles in both acidic and basic medium. Here we focused on acidic medium for preparation of Silica coated AgBr nanoparticles. Khoabane et al, 2005 has synthesized Silica tubes and spheres in the presence of oxalate ions. The silica is influenced by synthesis conditions (temperature, oxalic acid and ammonia concentration, amount of water, length of ageing time, and length of time for TEOS hydrolysis). He found that the oxalate ions form two types of templates, with rod-like templates favored at high concentration and sphere shaped templates at lower concentrations. Review Jiang et al, 2004 were prepared silver nanoparticles in an acid-catalyzed silica colloidal solution. He found that the plasmon band of silver particles supported on the surface of silica was considerably shifted to a longer wavelength compared with a pure silver solution. The shift in the absorption band basically resulted from surface effects, size effects and irregular shape Feng et al, 2000 were prepared mesoporous silica templated by microemulsion liquid crystal. Objective
To prepare Silica coated AgBr nanoparticle in
acidic medium with different PH Charecterization by SEM TEM DLS UV-V Spectrometer. Preparation Silica coated AgBr particles are prepared by reverse CTAB microemulsion method. Here AgBr core is prepared first and silica coated given to it at PH < 7. The ratio of the component Oil CTAB Butanol AgNO3 (R = 5) 3.3 0.291 0.591 0.072 H2O/ TEOS =4-6 Characteristic Now this prepared silica coated AgBr nanoparticles images were taken by SEM.From it we can see that particles were formed. Work to Be Done
To see effect of particles size on changing PH by DLS
Particles characterization by TEM and SEM. Absorbance of the wavelength By UV-V spectrometer.( in time interval ) THANK YOU REFERENCE
