Prepare Students
for Oral Communication at the
San Cristbal
Language Department, Unach.

the real world and a close
examination of the effects of
such an intervention.
Model

To do action research is to plan, act, observe


and reflect more carefully, more systematically,
and more rigorously than one usually does in
everyday life. Kemmis and McTaggart
(1992:10).
This study was completed in one cycle aimed
to present the improvement of learners
pronunciation through training at the San
Cristobal Language Department, UNACH and
to see if and how language learning strategies
instruction contributed to their improvement.
Learners participated in the training and
reflected on their improvement.
Hypothesis

Training students in pronunciation can


facilitate students oral communication.

Overall Aim

To train students in pronunciation as a way to


prepare them for oral communication.
Objectives/ Goals

To design and apply a pronunciation-based syllabus.

To apply and observe the impact of the


interventions.

To assess the effectiveness of the pronunciation


training through students oral performance.

To contrast the suitability of the pronunciation


training.
Time

The beginning of the research study is going to


begin in ocotober, and is going to stop around
at the mid of November, and the research is
going to finish with all the requirements as
well.
Place

The action research project


will take place at
Universidad Autnoma de
Chiapas Campus III (UNACH),
specifically in the Language
Department, where English
courses takes place
Participants

The participants of this research will be the


students attending third level in this school two
different groups A and B

A: 8 students, 5 women 3 men


B: 4 students, 3 women 1 man

The teacher in charge is Mara Emilia Ochoa Setzer
