Solidification
Solidification is the compaction process to
resolve hazardous waste so that the physical
and chemical characteristics of waste is stable
and safe for the environment.

Purpose Of Solidifications
To reduce liquid or mud contaminants in the
environment by using solidification methode.
The Tools

The Materials

SULFUR SODIUM
IC ACID HYDROXI

CEMENT
WATER

20 ML OF SODIUM HYDROXIDE (NAOH) 20 ML OF SULFURIC ACID (H2SO4)

CHEMICAL INGREDIENTS

SOIL
NaOH H2SO4

120 GRAM OF CEMENT

First, Blend SOIL and WATER in plastic beaker with
stirring rod until it becomes mud,
Next, bring 6 cups of mineral water cups and weigh each of
empty cups,

Then, Weigh 50 gram of cement and 50 gram of mud

and pour it with variaty of acidity (at pH 3, 7, and 9)

After that, Weigh cement and mud with variaty of
compositions 50:50, 35:65, and 20:80 for each of
cups and at pH 7.0,

Check the level of acidity or basicity for each of cups with pH-
meter. If it is acidic (at pH 1-6), then add 20 ml of Sodium
hydroxide (NaOH) . But If it is alkaline (at pH 8-14), then add 20
ml of Sulfuric acid (H2SO4) by using Graduated Pipette and Pipette
