GENERAL
Bleed air from LP (primary) &
HP compressor

Ground cross-feed duct,


connect R/H & L/H system,
cross-feed valve isolated them.

Monitor system, leak and


overheat.
SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
- Primarily from LP, HP regulate
air flow automatic supplies
during low rpm.

- Duct LP & HP join together


passes to air condition pack.

- Engine & airframe de-icing air


bleed from HP compressor.

- Ventury limits air flow during


duct failure.
- HP air flow is regulate by HP
valve, combine LP & HP is
controlled by Engine Bleed
Valve.

- In Hotel mode ,R/H engine


bleed flow to oil cooler via 2
venturies ,automatic active
when PROP BRK switch ON.

- Bleed air develop vacuum for


cabin pressurized system.
SYSTEM COMPONENTS
ENGINE BLEED
VALVES
Pneumatically operate, electrically
controlled by ENG BLEED P/b.

Close when no air pressure.

Close when :
- DC Bus 1 or 2 is
removed.
- Bleed duct over heat or
leak.
- Fire handle pulled,.
- PROP BRK ,ON (L/H engine
only.
- Inhibited open 30 sec after
engine start.
ENGINE HP VALVES
Function to shut off and regulate
to maintain minimum pressure.

Bleed valve close, HP valve close.

Automatically close :
- un-sufficient HP pressure.
- no electrical power.
- LP bleed excessive.
- Duct overheat or leak, open
when duct temp to normal,
no local alert or CCAS alert.
- in flight ,able to open when
PLA less than 45.
GROUND CROSSFEED
VALVE.
Pre Mod 2975 , on the ground,
valve is controlled by PROP
BRK.

When prop brake engage,


cross-feed open, L/H Bleed
valve closed

When R/H bleed air present,


cross-feed valve open, X VALVE
illuminate, no CCAS alert.

If cross-feed valve open due to


malfunction, CCAS level 2 and
AIR on CAP illuminate.
Post-Mod 2975.
on ground valve open allow 1
engine air for both pack.

- Valve close when bleed air is


supplied from both engine.
DUCT OVERHEAT/LEAK

DETECTION
Is monitored by 2 probe, location
down stream engine bleed valve.

Indication occur when either probe


sense overheat.

Illuminate OVHT and FAUL on the


overhead panel, CCAS level 2 and
AIR on CAP.

Duct overheat cause :


- Engine Bleed valve close.
- HP valve close.
- Crossfeed valve close.
- Pilot discretion, Bleed valve select
ON if overheat indication disappear.
DUCT LEAK
Monitors :
- Wing L/E and wing-
to-fuselage fairing.
- Fuselage side wall
and lower fuselage.
- Pack area.
DETECTION
6 temperature sensor along bleed duct.
Monitor temperature between duct and tube

Active when 1 or more detect overheat.

LEAK and FAULT illuminate, CCAS level 2,


AIR on CAP.
- HP valve close.
- Bleed valve close.
- Pack valve close.
- cross-feed valve close.
- Pilot prohibited to re-open.
LIMITATION
When duct leak, pilot is
prohibited from reopen engine
bleed valve.
ABNORMAL AND
EMERGENCY
PROCEDURE.
AIRFRAME AIR BLEED FAULT
Over temperature up stream
pressure regulating valve or.

De-icing manifold pressure


below 14 psi.
BLEED FAULT
Valve position disagree

Bleed valve close

Pack valve close due to lack of


air supply.
BLEED OVERHEAT
OVHT illuminate.
- Bleed valve close.
- Pack valve close (no
air pressure)
BLEED LEAK
LEAK illuminate
- Bleed valve close.
- Pack valve will close.
BLEED NOT ON AFTER TAKEOFF
30 sec after positioning of
PWR MGT select to other T/O,
CCAS level 2 and AIR on CAP.

Alert to crew procedure after


take off.
GRN X VALVE OPEN (FLIGHT
ONLY)
X VALVE OPEN light
illuminate, CCAS level 2, AIR
on CAP.

If both bleed air available, no


special procedure.

If subsequent Bleed valve fail,


Pack Valve must be OFF, due
to restriction 1 engine supplies
2 pack.

NOTE : on the ground light


normally ON.
CONTROL AND
INDICATORS
OVHT inside the Duct detect an
overheat condition. ENGINE AIR
X VALVE OPEN Ground Cross- BLEED PANEL
feed Valve open.

LEAK Duct leak.

ENG 1/2 BLEED


No light switch is depressed HP
and engine Bleed Valve open if
sufficient air pressure available.

OFF Switch is release, HP and


engine Bleed Valve are closed

FAULT Disagreement of Bleed


Valve and P/b position. Bleed
Valve close automatically in case
a leak or overheat is detected.
