Starks Project Concept
Statement
A light, cool, contemporary and relaxed atmosphere is needed for this space.
A modern, Scandinavian style will incorporate natural materials and simple
construction methods for the furniture and materials used throughout,
creating a minimalistic feel. Due to the small scale of the space an open
concept will be best used and proficient in allowing natural light to reach all
living areas. Muted natural tones and using an analogous color scheme for
the cabinetry and walls allowing for Mrs. Starks photography to serve as
pops of color. A versatility in line, from horizontal, vertical, to curvilinear will
appear through architectural and design features. Allowing for forms to take
shape and adding textures to fill the space. Each aspect selected will produce
a calm, clean, and personalized quality for this design. (Harwood)
Stark Project Color Palette
By adding hue and
desaturating the green color,
and adding a bit more blue to
design a cool, muted color
best suited for this space, by
enhancing variations of blue
and/or green lightened values
to create an analogous color
scheme. The next color is
again desaturated, and with
more hue added to give a pale (Figure 1 Snakes and
blue color, thus creating a
clean and airy mood. Ladder Garden)
