How to access adequate housing
How to stay healthy and safe

CRITICALLY CHOOSE AND IMPLEMENT INTERVENTIONS


TO ACHIEVE PRACTICE GOALS AND ENHANCE
CAPACITIES OF CLIENTS AND CONSTITUENCIES.
These interventions:
Allow clients to become empowered
Give clients a sense of dignity
Allow clients to communicate any adversities they have
Help clients be more self-determined
Clients are able to make better decisions concerning their health

APPLY KNOWLEDGE OF HUMAN BEHAVIOR AND THE


SOCIAL ENVIRONMENT, PERSON-IN-ENVIRONMENT, AND
OTHER MULTIDISCIPLINARY THEORETICAL FRAMEWORKS
IN INTERVENTIONS WITH CLIENTS AND CONSTITUENCIES
Professionals in Adult Protective Services should collaborate
with other stakeholders such as:
Lawyers
Doctors
Nutritionists
Family Members of Clients
Housing Authorities

USE INTER-PROFESSIONAL
COLLABORATION AS APPROPRIATE TO
ACHIEVE BENEFICIAL PRACTICE OUTCOMES
Professionals will work with clients to put their interest first in
regards to:
Where they want to live
How the client will achieve their goals
Getting the client culturally competent services
Meeting all the specifications of a clients culture

NEGOTIATE, MEDIATE, AND ADVOCATE


WITH AND ON BEHALF OF DIVERSE
CLIENTS AND CONSTITUENCIES
Professionals will work with clients to create short term and
long term goals
Case management will be performed with clients to determine:
Their progress in reaching short term goals
Plans on how to achieve long term goals
Any needs that the client expects before being able to meet their
goals

FACILITATE EFFECTIVE TRANSITIONS AND


ENDINGS THAT ADVANCE MUTUALLY
AGREED-ON GOALS
