Why Industrial Training?

Requirements for graduation

To expose the students with the actual working

environment.
To give the students a chance to integrate the theory
knowledge with the actual tasks in the challenging
environment.
To provide chance to organizations to transfer the
relevant skills and experience to the students
Pre-requisite

Bachelor : Must have completed at least 30

credits from Core Major & 20 credits from
Specialization /Field Electives.
Diploma: Must have completed all the Core
Major, Specialization and Field Electives.

1st Checklist for Students

Fill Up the Checklist For Industrial Training

Update Resume / CV
Request for Cover Letter from HOP
Apply for Job via online job portals, company
websites or walk-in interviews
Send the Offer Letter from the Company to HOP
Make sure NO OUTSTANDING FEES
Report duty at the Company
Donts in Applying for Placement

Unsuitable Companies
Cannot undergo industrial training in
family/relative companies
Cannot undergo industrial training in a
company where you have worked/is
currently working, etc.
Make sure the company is assigning tasks
that is suitable for your nature of studies.
Stil Blur and No idea

Get the advice from the HOP if unsure of the

suitability of a company.

Inform the HOP if unable to get a placement

for Industrial Training.
Unique Cases (Upon Placement) 12

If upon 2-3 weeks of training, one finds that all the tasks
given are non-IT related, please email your HOP.

Suitable remedial actions will be taken if, upon

investigation, this is found to be true by the HOP.
Once got placement.
What to do?

Email or hand over the offer letter to the HOP.

 Industrial Training Assessments

Students that fails to submit ANY of the above within the

stipulated time are considered FAIL and will be graded F.
Payment of Fees & Registration

You must NOT have any OUTSTANDING FEES.

You must have submitted the Notification Form
by Week 1.
If ALL of the above is OK, your HOP will
register INDUSTRIAL TRAINING for you.
However, you need to pay in FULL at the end
of the semester to get the result.

During Industrial Training

Adhere to all the rules and regulations of

company
Always be positive and give the best
contribution in carrying out the tasks given.
Carry out Industrial Training in an ethical and
professional manner and uphold the good name
of the University at all time.

Student must work according to the agreed

hours or time.
Student is not allowed to take any leave
without prior consent from the organization.

During Industrial Training

During the industrial training period, student

is still subject to the universitys rules and
regulations, any breach of such rule,
disciplinary action will be taken according to
the university rule and act.
 Supervisors

Academic Supervisor (IUKL Lecturer)

Each student will be supervised by one lecturer whom
will be responsible in assessing the students
performance and there after gives grade to the
students.
The academic supervisor will visit the student and
evaluate the presentation in Week 10.
Field Supervisor (will be appointed by the organization)
2nd Checklist for Students

Update LogBook DAILY

Remind and set Industrial Training visit appoinment
with Academic Supervisor
Prepare the Presentation Slides to be presented
during the visit in Week 10
Presentation during Week 10
Complete 12 Weeks of Industrial Training
Submission of ALL documents to HOP by the due
date
Final Submissions : 24 May 2017
